Hi,

The clutch peddle on my 986S has always been on the heavy side to press but 2 days ago the peddle suddenly became very very light and not very smooth. When driving the car the peddle springs back to the normal position
but when the engine is off the peddle stays down when pressed.

While driving the car a slow speed I put it in 6th gear and put my foot on the gas. The car accelerated no problem with no signs of slipping (no high revs at slow speed).

Does this sound like a peddle problem, hydraulic problem or does my clutch appear to be worn out. Does anyone know or have they had similar experiences?

Cheers

Master cylinders have been known to fail so that could cause the symptoms you describe. On the other hand, so too could a weak pressure plate.

Seems like a hydraulic issue to me!!

Does anyone know where the clutch fluid reservoir is on a Boxster. The large one under the bonnet i'm assuming is for brake fluid. I'd like to check for any fluid loss.
