The choice is this, nice tight bubble perm or short back n sides.

Actually, the choice is 2001 plate Boxster 2.7 with 65k miles FSH (some porsche, some indy) or a 2001 plate Boxster S with 110k miles with an impeccable porsche main dealer history

They are exactly the same money - What one is the better car to have, bearing in mind this is not a daily driver?

In lieu of not much else to go on, I'd say the fast one.

The condition seems to be pretty similar on both, although I have not seen either in the flesh, only photos.

I used to have an S, 12 years ago and liked it a lot before upgrading to a 996 but have never driven a 2.5 or 2.7

I won't be doing many miles in it, only a few thousand a year I reckon.

Went from an S to 2.7, had to get back into an S. The 2.7 is not enough oomph, but its real flaw is braking.
