Got a 991 S today from OPC Aberdeen for a test. I will admit to being worried about this car and what it might be like. The one I have is a PDK model, not my cup of tea as I like a manual car, however I must say it is rather good, although it does seem to thump the next gear in whilst pressing on.
Sports exhaust sounds epic, really epic.

Not going to ramble on much but in conclusion; Cayman handling with 911 Turbo power and acceleration.

LOVE IT.

Blimey - is that a tasteful interior I spy? I like it, a lot...

yes, it's a rather nice place to be! Very well put together and works well with the exterior colour. Even SWMBO liked it...

If they look the same how can the 997 look better?

Bruce Hornsby and the range all sounded the same yet 'the way it is' was good.

Thats what i meant. Both are now boring cars.I have to laugh when some one says, love it ,the new slim side lights. Doesnt take much to part some people with £90k.plus.

Much better front end, lights and PU... slight changes over the outgoing 997 yes... but compare it to awful lights/PU of a 996.......

The GTS has a better helm, but that is about it for me - 991 wins hands down everywhere else. I was blown away by its capabilities (and that's coming from a GT3).

Have to agree, it looks better and more aggressive....

Whether an 'S' is worth 96K though! .. A few 991 S have now found themselves on the classifieds.... a decent GTS is 60-65K (my research to date) and a few advertised 991 'S' are another 30K ... ..

It's a LOT of dosh for a 911 S - it's a fantastic car, one that blew me away by its depth of ability. But buying new, you are sure to lose 40k in the first three years...

Yep. I was sorely tempted to buy one but think a wait is in order.
