Take it easy with me on my first post please dudes / dudettes...
I purchased a 996 turbo app 2.5 months ago from a garage. When I went to drive it I was struck with the heaviness of the clutch but now I am getting concerned...this concern is over the clutch actuator mechanism.
It is extremely difficult to depress the clutch when the engine is off and ok when on...however, and this is what is worrying me, as soon as the engine is stopped the clutch is solid again; there appears to be no residual pressure in the system for a second.
Quick question...normal? If not, and it turns out to be related to the actuator setup, any idea what kind of bill I am looking at?
Thanks
Peter

You have an accumulator issue, or the slave cylinder is allowing high pressure fluid to escape to the low pressure side of the system, check the levels in the reservoirs front and back - if they are ok then the accumulator is at fault. If the level in the front is too high (engine running) then the slave is suspect.
