Hello, I am looking for a 996 (turbo, manual, not silver/grey, pref aerokit)...

Only my wife who's a bit tall doesnt like the top tint on the window...

...can you get it off???

...or indeed, are there many examples without it?

I don't think you can remove it. It may have been standard on the Turbo (and/or in the UK) but I remember that I had to pay something to have it on my Boxster 10 years ago in CH. A mate had a replacement screen fitted without the top tint so that is another option if you find the right car and then she decides that she really can't get on with the top tint.

P.S. If she's really tall, you could go for the Cab.

won't come off as its integral to the laminated screen. I can't say I've seen one without it.

The seats have got a height adjustment so I'd be surprised if the adjustment wouldn't sort it. Unless of course she's an amazon

Cheers for the help. She is over 6ft, so I dont argue with her ! Tried it with the seat on the lowest possible, thanks.

AFAIK all UK spec cars have the top tint. You would either have to find a non-UK car, change the screen or find a smaller wife.

I would suggest the latter is probably the least cost effective option. wink

You'd have to check that this definitely doesn't have the top tint, but assuming it doesn't it's an inexpensive solution and an upgrade to the standard screen (Porsche don't offer a heated screen). Just needs a relay and a switch and you're away.
