Had a cayman S for a year, ran it 100miles a day. I live in the North East of Scotland, it was a hard winter last year -15 and at least a foot of snow on the ground for a few months, put cold weather tyres on it and it was fantastic. Never got stuck once, never missed a beat.
Only cost was; tyres and a service.... oh and a big grin
Go for it.

I had a Cayman S for about a year and although I didn't use it everyday there was no doubt I could have done. Always found it rewarding to drive fast and was comfortable enough on long runs to be a perfectly acceptable daily drive - I averaged about 25mpg in mine, so even that's not too bad.
I've had mine for 18 months and used it as my only car. Done about 25K in that time. It's never let me down no matter what the weather and I find it perfectly usable in all conditions however it has not been without its fair share of problems (although little that actually prevented it from driving). Read the blog on my profile to see what its cost me.
Useable 24/7. The only concerns I have is that sometimes (client sites) it can give out the wrong image and I still don't like parking it at supermarkets/parking on road/driving in London in it where it can get needlessly dinged. Also in town the poor 3/4 view is a bit frustrating sometimes.

This is a growing concern, particularly around industries that are involved in environmental, ethical and sustainable businesses. Added to the current austerity drive, it can make both the driver and client feel a little uncomfortable. I know of one particular large organisation whose business is all of the former, but in the Director's car park it's like going to see Pistonheads Live! They have discussed the issue at Board level and have agreed measures to mitigate the possible negative impression they may be giving out to both staff, customers and suppliers. One tip is to keep the car dirty and run it on wheels with a minus quotient of bling factor; this seems to lessen the impact of having a 'flash' car.

Also, if someone gets narky about how expensive it is, say that it was bought with the inheritance from when your Nan died - tends to shut people up.
