Just in the process of putting in an order for a Cayenne Diesel and wondered if anybody has had any success securing a discount off list? I know "if you don't ask, you don't get" but just wondered if dealers are even entertaining it or just flat out refusing.

Thanks.

I was in Guildford Porsche dealership recently and they told me no discounts. I took that at face value as I was not in a position to put my deposit down and challenge it. They were taking orders for June delivery so they are obviously having no problem with selling their quota.

I would be interested also in the success or not of others in getting a discount on the latest Cayenne.

A friend of mine recently went into Cardiff OPC with the intention of puchasing a nearly new one and he was informed that they are selling for virtually new prices and were therefore not discounting new ones at all.

New ones are selling at a premium (£3-5k is typical) so I can't see any reason why they'd discount one.

A friend took delivery of one just before Christmas and was considering another just beforehand on the basis that upon arrival he could sell his current one at a loss small enough that it would be cheaper than having to maintain it.

Thanks for replies everyone. Thought as much. Wasn't sure if demand had abated slightly. Anyway, I'll ask and see where we get to.

Will let you know.

Cheers.

I'm told any dealer caught discounting will lose part of quota.

very convenient excuse for the OPC ...

BUT

resale price maintenance is illegal under English and EU law

I get the impression after speaking to two dealers that low UK allocation is keeping the price at retail.

Corr, haven't heard of that since the good old days of B Liar or was it the Milk Snatcher?

Well I tried and didn't get very far. They still have people queueing up to get in to one so no chance.

I did however manage to get an earlier build slot. Now have June delivery which has been brought in from late July.

Just need to finalise spec now.

Thanks.
