Toying with the idea of selling my car as I'm just not drivng it enough. Am a bit out of touch on values so was wondering what I could expect. Car as follows :

1991
Polar Silver, red interior, 18" Speedline Daytona in reasonable nick
about 78k miles
4 ish owners
Full service history, OPC then good indies. Lately with GT1, last major service completed Jan 2012
1 Year MOT
Purchased from Ray Northway
Pretty good nick for age and lovely to drive.

Any thoughts on value and where best to sell it as there are not too many around I guess ?

Assuming it is the 3.6 engine, I would be looking for around £45k (maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less) depending on condition and comprehensiveness of servicing.

I think the best place to advertise is here, on Pistonheads, this is where the majority of people who will appreciate that car live.

Alternatively, call round a few reputable independents and see what they can offer you. For example, Specialist Cars of Malton, 911 Virgin, Paul Stephens etc

If average 25k..if a minter 50k..presuming its a 3.3 as 1991 reg..you try and sell it where you can as there is always a price..its just where it is that is that matters..i sold my mint 40k mile 964 turbo recently and got 38.5k if that helps after fending off a lot of dreamers.

Not the 3.6 (I wish) but a 3.3 so not quite as lofty value wise, was thinking £25-35 but there just don't seem to be nay cars out there at the moment. Handn't thought of Paul Stephens could be worth a word with them.

Thanks

Why would you do that?Put it up for 35k and see whats happens..as i said its tough...sooo many tyre kickers out there, your buyer will come from Sing/hong kong most likely.

I know what you mean but I have a low tolerance for tyre kickers, depends how much its going to cost me by selling to a dealer I guess

Try Phil Raby - avoid having to deal with tyre kickers and could probably get you more than a trade offer.

Bit hard to value on your brief spec.
It's all about condition with these cars.
£35k suggested above might be a fair price or overpriced, it all depends what the answer to some of the following are;
- original clutch?
- original suspension?
- turbo charger overhauled?
- condition of engine?
- any oil leaks?
- factory exhaust? /Condition of heat exchangers?
- working air con?
- condition of consumerables like pads and discs?
- any rust around skuttle?

Etc etc, just trying to show a rough guide of what most people would factor into the value when considering these cars. Unfortunately the Daytona wheels don't add any value IMHO.

FWIW there is a silver turbo in the classifieds up for c33k at the moment with simlar miles so you could use that as a gauge

My car went to HK and i got 40k would not take anything less,i have the details of the buyer in HK who are always looking to buy these types of cars,ps i would not offer it to Paul Stephene unless you want around £20k as the red 3.3 i bought was offered to me for £55k and they offered the seller £39k,if you want the details of the buyers in HK let me know and i will send you a PM,good luck.

Thought you let the white one go for £38k? either way its all about condition with these cars. How is the red one treating you Rocco. Guess you haven`t had much chance to use it over recent months. sorry for the thread hijack

Given i got 40k for my 930 and looking at the pics of your 964 i reckon that was a good price for somebody Kevin, thought you'd have fetched a bit more?

My Black 3.3T 1991 is going to be up for sale soon , I have contacted Rocco's man and he has come back to me . Mine has done 60,000 miles and has had new carpets and
re trimmed interior. Price wise it is looking to go for mid to high 30's.

This buyer does take his time but if he says he will buy then he will.I think he will ask his buyer to pay up first and the pay the seller here in the UK.Good luck

Thanks guys, I'd say the car was better than average without being mint and has a perfect service history with all the bills MOT's etc retained (I have a big fat file). I think I need to follow the advice on here and leave the UK dealers well alone, Hong Kong sounds interesting though. I'll post a couple of pics when I can, any excuse to post pics of a TurboII should be grasped with both hands :0)
