I was looking at three possibles and they are now getting near in my view to full retail price.

Definitely-
The 991 GT2RS is currently 330k plus 6 commission……that’s more than you’d currently pay at an OPC….although it has to be said
the excellent spec guards red car in the auction must be seen as more desirable than the silver ones kicking around unsold…..

CC I thought was about uniting sellers and buyers so both get a good deal rather than getting trade involved. Why would you pay full retail when buying privately unless the car was unique in some way.. its easy to get carried away at auction .. is that what's happening?

Indeed, the 991.1 RS already up to £136k
The last one to sell on CC went for £127k, though that was ultraviolet.

Surely retail is around £150k on that car, so paying £145k plus for a private purchase with no warranty I can't quite fathom unless I'm missing something or prices have gone up.

I think the Viper green colour is a big factor in the price here....not many .1 RS were in PTS colours and Viper looks the business ..... is there another Viper car anywhere in the UK currently for sale ?!?

Indeed. I think it will go for £150k plus.

Yea, I assumed the colour was the USP of that car, it does look good.

I thought the 3.2 CS was probably good for £200k when it appeared, with that mileage it will appeal to the collector market, there can't be many of the 53 with such low miles?

As nice as it is the current price on the 993 RS was as far as I expected it to go, maybe full German dentist spec with chairs, airbags and electric windows makes up for the lack of deviated stitching for the modern Porsche buyer? smile

some extraordinarily strong bids registered for much of the Leonard collection and it's still got 3 days to run.....
And they are all finishing at 5 minute intervals meaning once someone misses out on one they still have time to bid for the next one. Very smart by CC.
Though not so good if a bid close to the end of auction time repeatedly extends it by 2 minutes ...

From the Leonard Collection, the yellow 3.6 964 Turbo is about the only one left that appears quite reasonably priced. Anyone any idea why?

Probably is this although there are a few cars still short of what you’d expect they will go for....the 911 R is about £90k less than the last delivery/very low mileage CC sold...but that did seem like daft money!

£200k for the 996 GT3 RS seems strong...even for a blue one!

I guess there'll be some repricing of stock in the next day or so.

The 911R sold for £360k. Which makes the Touring a bargain at about half that price, especially as there are fewer examples in the UK.

I still don’t get the 911R. As a driving experience it’s underwhelming at that price point. Presumably it’s a collector rarity thing.

The seller must be delighted with the results - although I’m astonished by some of the individual prices achieved.

I do think the frenzy of a competitive auction must have welled up a lot of momentum, leading some buyers to bid beyond sensible market values. Nothing interesting looked like a bargain.

Of course some of the LHD lots will have interested overseas buyers, although not sure how attractive the exch rate/ tax costs might have been.

DVLA do exactly the same with their timed numberplate auctions... sliding end times, everything is geared up for them to get the absolute max. Price for the plate sale. Nothing pleases them more than 2 or 3 bidders, hell bent on winning the plate.
Only one winner. The person with the most dosh wins the plate. DVLA line their pockets. banghead

I don’t get the 911R either.
From a collectors point of view with ultra low mileage it’s not even an interesting looking car
to have on show - it’s hardly much different looking to a bog standard 991 Carrera.
At least a 964 Turbo or similar looks something special.
