To round this one off. I got the whole lot, pagid discs, textar pads, 4 wear sensors and 4 fitting kits from 911-shop for £475 with next day delivery.

That’ll see me for a bit and next time as long as I keep a close eye I can just do pads and avoid wear sensors as I’ll know they are new
That is pretty reasonable, are you fitting yourself? Good luck with the calliper bolts!

Decent step up from Brembo stuff which isn't so good IMO for aftermarket stuff.

Not as expensive as I thought it would be. Do you get warranty with 20 year old cars.

Not sure how a Classic warranty differs from a normal one? scratchchin

Keep the wear sensors to fit before sale, and just loop the existing ones back on themselves. Stops the annoying and premature brake warning light (so long as you do your own checks religiously, obviously).

Very much this. Wear sensors cause more grief than they save and they've been shorted out on all of my pork. Have a glance at the pads every time you service the thing and change them when necessary.

Yes I intend too! Ideally back at home AFTER the track day but maybe in the paddock! I did a full brake change on my 996 and don't recall there being a particular problem with the bolts?!

If you get some proper pads for fast road or track days then there will be no wear sensor slot anyway. I have managed to melt the wear sensor on standard pads triggering the light.

Here's me doing the ole' twist and tape in the Nordschlief car park due to that very issue! I'll get round to soldering and heat shrinking them one day....

They can corrode in the hub - steel bolts + aluminium hub = galvanic corrosion. I thought I had got lucky as I'd changed all the discs a few years ago but trying to adjust the handbrake recently resulted in one rear caliper bolt being real sticky. Managed to free up the handbrake just fine loosening it right off and working the brake but that bolt will need to be fixed in the long term....

Not much you can do about it just keep fingers crossed!

Ok thanks. If i find some spare time before I go, i'll whip the wheels off and give them a crack, plusgas and re-torque

Absolutely the cheapest I have seen.
Scruffy, but for that price does it matter?

No MOT though.
True but maybe worth making an offer that includes an MoT pass?

Tempting, I quite fancy a scruffy one. Any idea if the brake servo is an easy diy job on these?

If a car dealer doesn't put an MOT on it it will be because they know there are things wrong with it.

Quick look at the MOT history and can also see it's hardly moved in the last few years.

I would think that's going to be more than a brake servo to get it going & reliable.

And for a £100 more you could get this one which has an MOT and an honest write up.

I did ours, very easy.

We had brake binding, was due to a combination of a ridge built up inside the master cyl (lack of use) & moisture in the servo, which is apparently not uncommon. From memory it took about 2 hrs.

It was advertised for £1750 last week on FB.

I messaged the seller who seemed a decent chap but I have too much on at the mo to have taken it on. The £1750 included the hard top.
