Checking it over is fine. But rush rush rush. Don't ask the seller if it is OK to wait. Dont dilly dally. If you like the car push push push.
Will definitely make sure for the next one!

There's another one, a Silver with Terracotta leather in Wales which I'm going to enquire about.
Do you have a link to the Wales car?

One thing to bear in mind I think is that there are always other cars, good cars. And give it a week and there will be a couple more.

True, certainly will see what else comes.

This is the Wales one

And these ones
This one could do with a bit more info, and some of the reviews of the dealership are not great.. Very close to me though

I’m sort of obsessing over this at the moment from the classifieds. How likely is it to go up in smoke and need a rebuild? Or have I spent too much time on t’internet…

Well, looks like that sold quickly!

Thanks for your replies seems like the 3.4 is one to steer away from which leaves the 2.7 Gen 1 and the 2.9 Gen 2. Having a scroll this evening, this 2.7 is around the corner from me. What are your thoughts?

Looks good, to be honest though you really need to see cars of that age mileage to draw a proper opinion on how good a car is

If you want a 3.4 but don't like the risk, this could be worth a look.

You'd want to find out exactly what spec the rebuild was, but if it's the full job, then could make sense depending on final price.

Took the Boxster for a post purchase inspection to get ahead of any issues that may be lurking underneath the car.

Very happy to report that it is in very good health indeed.

One front bump stop just starting to perish, some cleaning up on a couple of bits of brake line and a couple of fasteners missing from lower bumper at the front.

If anyone is around the South East/ West London area then give Paul at https://www.torqueboxsters.co.uk/ for all your Boxster issues and servicing.

Paul is very good and his prices are extremely reasonable. Can’t recommend him highly enough.

Just been looking at your website Paul, all looks excellent, glowing reviews there. Do you have Boxsters coming from far and wide for servicing? I'm in Shropshire, which is a bit of a trek, but perhaps it's worth the trip to have a 'Boxster-only' specialist doing the work.

Hi Paul
Yes, very far and very wide smile

Currently have one in for a lot of work which has come from Plymouth!

Regular clients live in Kent and Essex etc.

If it just a service, I allow clients to go for a coffee / brunch and collect the car a couple of hours later.

I recently did a full suspension refresh on a 986 and the client lives in Ipswich. I drop / pick up from the train statin etc

Thanks

Paul

Assume you'd do a suspension refresh on a 987 Cayman, too?

Think it's only getting access to the rear top mounts that would be materially different to a 986...

I would need to carry out some research but I do not see why not.

In the words of Adele - Hello, it's me.

Picked this one up from Carlisle today and now repatriated in the sunny south east.

Off to Paul @ Torque Boxsters in Sunbury tomorrow for a post-purchase inspection. I had her up on ramps and did a pretty thorough inspection so hopefully she isn't hiding too many skeletons in the closet.

A perfect drive back - she didn't miss a beat. A very special feeling thing.

Looks like 550 on page 550. Welcome to the club. Had mine for over 10 years now.

Just a matter of snapping bits of trim off-quite a bit of it frustratingly!

Tyres are a problem on 18's, there's no really sporty options for the rear. I'm hoping Michelin see the light and offer the new PS S5's in 265/40R18 for Caymans, Boxsters and Z4's.... It's on Bridgestone Advan AD050A's at the moment and to be honest on the road they're doing fine.
Yoko Advan V105 are available for the 18s. It's a pretty nice tyre. For fun road driving. Not a track tyre, if that's what you mean.
Which size is the problem?

I believe 235 40 18 is common as muck so perhaps the 265 40 18 is the problem one. Have you thought about a 275 40 18. Are these a more common size? Or you could go the other way and get a 255 40.

I think I posted up the auction for this one when I spotted it on ebay.
