I've not done a readers cars before, so bear with me.
In 2016 I bought a lightly modified VI GSR, I flew over to the IOM and brought it back.

The spec was the usual bolt-ons of Exhaust, Intercooler, Fuel Pump, and a Map with Ohlins coilovers.
It wasn't minty mint, but my plans were to use it mostly on track anyway. I set about registration, and de cluttering of countless Ralliart badges and plaques.
March 2017 I ran up to Silverstone for the wash out PHSS.

One of the first things I did was to remove the 18 inch wheels, and fit some Enkei Evo 8 wheels with R888R that I had 'in stock'.

Then I started hitting the track:

It became apparent that the brakes were shocking, the seats were terrible, the 'pops and bangs' map was stupid, and the exhaust was in desperate need of quietening -- 101dB driveby. I also wanted to get some weight over the front, so had the ride height increased at the back.
First up, I wanted some wider wheels so I got some 17x9 TD 1.2's ordered up.

In went some better seats, and some harnesses -- more akin to the SR's that I had in my Integra. The harnesses have now been in two Evo's as my Dad owned 1 of 26 Evo 6 Extremes back in 2005/6 ish.
Then I had Turn12 modify the exhaust, to put an extra silencer in the centre pipe, and the biggest silencer Ben could fit behind the bumper.
After putting up with juddery horrible brakes, I had a set of 6-pot Alcons installed which were rubbish at first due to pad choice.
In 2019, I managed 7 track-days at Spa, Nurburgring, Brands, Silverstone, Bedford, and Donington twice. For the first time in ownership I went a whole season without the use of a low-loader, it only needed consumables last year.
Mid-way through 2019 -- I had always wanted a set of TE37's in just the right offset, I had previously flirted with some 8.5J ET30 ones, but I got my hands on some that are 9J ET22.
And that's how it sat for the rest of the year. Over the last three years, I've really gelled with the car and can match a great deal of exotica with it. But, I first drove an Evo 6 back in 2002 at 17 — so I’ve been at this a while.
My plan for 2020 was to install a roll cage, underside restore, and remove the AYC for an RS mechanical differential. After driving another VI at Donington in September that had a roll cage and RS diff, I was hooked. I had to have that turn in, and that rear end. However, I came across a car that was available that already had all this done, with the helpful additions of an RS steering rack (2.2 turns instead of 2.6), RS Turbo, AP Brakes, Ohlins, and some lovely Recaro RS-G Ralliart embroidered seats.
So I bought it.
Over the last couple of weeks, I've transferred some of the cosmetic bits, and the wheels, to make it 'mine'.
My old one will be reverted to standard-ish, and either sold or broken up. This thread will mostly concentrate on the new car, and what I do with it. First things first though, move my baffled sump over and have it checked over.

Both lovely cars, love the look on the 17x9 TD's.
It was owned by a chap called Lukas who ran it in some sprints, etc. He was based just outside Sheffield. TD's were lovely, bloody heavy though. Both lovely cars, love the look on the 17x9 TD's.

Upgrades aside — so far, I've spent on a crank pulley, rear diff, and a fuel tank/pump. My old EG came up on ebay about 2 years ago looking ropey as, and I think that EK9 floats about sometimes too.

In 2005 I owned No 15 (I think that was the number) of those Extremes. Picked it up from Ralliart and it broke down on the motorway after about 5 miles!

They've not done too badly, have they. I think the TME bumper on the newer car is a little nicer to look at, but the older car looks very aggressive approaching in the mirrors. 
This is the Evo that started it all for me, pictured in either 1999 or 2000 2 or 3 years before I had a license, back in the days you could passenger aged ~14.

That's a nice blurry photo for me! 5/6 were cream of the crop, the very best of Group A road go-ers. And definitely the best of the Evolution franchise.
This is me and a friend of mine, at Silverstone late 2019, for my older Evo's swansong.

I've just swapped over my Carbing strut brace to replace the Tein one that came with the new car...
I might tidy the bay up, but I'm not sure it's worth it given the heat it's going to be subjected to. It's not bad under there.
With the old car away having some nice bits taken off it, and some brief sunshine coming out on Sunday I threw some tax at the new one and took it for a spin.
First 30 miles since buying the thing in November.
Felt amazing, and totally different to the old one. The new one has an RS turbo with ball bearings etc, and it spools so much faster than the old car.
I’ve also done some little things, like a sun strip, some interior pieces back in, can’t wait for some more dry weather and some track time.
