Hi all,
Wandered if anyone on here knows of a good website/owners club for the Mazda RX7
Seriously considering selling my FTO and buying an RX7
(92-95) However I have lots of questions to ask ie reliability. So it would be great to know of an informative forum on the subject.

Thanx

RX7's are very wel set up cars. Just remember to have the rotor tips renewed at 60K, (and if you buy a 7 at 58K or so, don't let the salesman fool you nto thinking it is 80K, as one tried to tell me.).
Handling is great, and they still look good.

Hope you got the RX7 - an old 'friend' had one and it went like the clappers, and drunk like a fish. No similarities then....

My mate has an RX 7 and it is absolutely superb. So much so that every time I go in it I wonder why I have so much capital tied up in a cerbie when I could have one of those in my garage and a healthier bank account!

Many of the websites and owners clubs seem to be a bit 'I've tuned it to XXX BHP and I can't understand why the engines blown up'

If you want advice on getting a good one Hurley Engineering in Coventry or Roteknics around Bracknell (I think) have a sound reputation.

Cheers

I've had my FD (3rd gen RX-7) for just over a year so far...

Bought from importer for £10k with 38k miles on it '92 car. Nice bodykit and alloys.

Engine started to show water-seal failure symptoms so I had it rebuilt @ 45k. Since then had remap (new ecu) and de-cat plus a few othr bits (like nice bling strut braces).

Spent about £17k all in so not mega cheap but the engine's good for another 55k miles and it's now putting out well over 300 horses (dyno'd @ 300 pre ecu/de-cat).

Need to get it on track this summer to see how it really handles but it's been well worth it so far.

I've been using WGT in Northwich (www.wgtautodevelopments.co.uk) for work and Pip Gardner (owner) knows his rotaries.

Make sure you (or nayone thinking of buying one) get it checked out by someone who knows a rotor from a piston as it could save you serious grief and £s.
