Hello all, just thought I would share my new/recent purchase. I'm really impressed with it so far.

Owned for two months and the CR 2.0 TDi unit is a fantastic engine av. 52 MPG very punchy, certianly enough to keep up with the German Rep Barges in lane 3 It's the largest capacity diesel in the supermini class wobble

Shares the platform as the Audi A1.

Build quality is excellent, not a squeak rattle to be heard. Surely the future has to be refined and quick smaller cars?

I don't think a 2.0 diesel is anything new, and it's certainly not the future.

And those new Ibiza's have a stupid radio which takes an age to figure out!

It certainly is, and I dont think thats a bad thing. Its nice to see a "box fresh" colour instead of the usual silver etc etc....

Did you actually buy it with money? Or is it a company car?

Well I have no need for a large car at the moment. First on the list would have been a Clio 200 but with the mileage I cover the costs just dont stack up so a quick diesel makes sense. Mini's are just too estate agent so they were off the list and besides once you have ticked a few options you are into the best part of 18K for a Cooper D. Reviews of the Seat FR's are favoursome and the marque has clearly come on leaps and bounds in recent years. Makes for a good "sleeper".

I'd be interested to see how much you paid considering the list price for one of these is £17k+ without any options (genuinely interested in Seat discounts ATM).

Erm, no. It's a bog standard VAG 2.0 diesel. 143bhp & 0-60 in 8.5 seconds does not make a supermini with a 'sporty' bodykit and big wheels into a sleeper.

Apart from White being sooo 2007, I like the new Ibiza. If you're happy OP, then that's all that matters. thumbup

humm, I suspect more 'new car' jealousy in this thread, - lively motor OP bet 140hp is fun in something that size : )

I hope you aren't counting me in that....

But £17K+ can buy a lot of performance car. I just personally see this as more "white goods" than an enthusiasts choice.

Nothing wrong with this mind. We are all different and so long as the OP is happy, then it matters not what I or anyone else thinks.

Nor me... Give me a £10k E39 M5 and the other £8k in cash which will take me 30,000 miles. I'll also have the money saved in depreciation for the maintenance of the 5er, thanks!

I know I know, I expected some negative feedback I'm sure even if I had just purchased a Veyron there would still be some put hey you've got to be thick skinned I guess.

Bought it "off the shelf" for 15K so in my mind thats not a bad deal.

I understand some people principles with spending the money on a used motor but trust me I've been there and done that any fully paid the price with repairs etc etc so this time I wanted something brand new with full warranty.

Hopefully people will understand.

Is it the FR? - if it is it should be the 170 not 140 as some people have said on here.

Fr is 130

Honda Civic is a 2.2 engine so bigger..

I like the Ibiza but not sure on white as the colour, but nice car you have there.

..is it a bit nose heavy in corners?
