Decided that i needed to buy something a bit more sporty then the Firechicken, So sold that and started looking for a replacement.

Whoops. rolleyes

Anywho, It's a genuine California black plate car with all matching numbers. supplied with power disc brakes and an AM radio from the factory. It currently has an Edelbrock inlet and carb, comp cam and dual exhausts.

More photos to follow next time i see it in daylight. smile

It looks great but can we have some photos of the car where we can see it properly?

I do love a good muscle car!

Right then, I've nipped home on my lunchbreak to take these...

I'm not apologising for it being filthy, it's what happens if you drive 150 odd miles in November.

Jobs to do include, remove the crap 'Harley Davidson' Floor mats and the sticker on the front wing. Under seal it, change the coolant and give it a damn good clean.

Very tough looking, love it.
My dad had a convertible one in white, red leather interior in California in about '75. Don't see many about, good choice!

Oh God that is lovely! The Cougar is one of my favourite muscle cars! I fell in love with them as a kid seeing the convertible one in "On her Majesty's secret service", the James Bond film.

Right then, an update of sorts....

A couple of months of ownership and i've got a list of jobs to do.
Clean the matt black paint from the grill/headlight covers and chrome bonnet trims.
Replace the headlights with halogen units with dip/main on all four.
Find and fit a fan shroud. (nearly lost fingers to the fan twice already.)
Wire up the revcounter to work with the new dizzy. (if possible)
Replace the steering wheel with something in better nick.
Replace the drivers door hinges.
Replace the window seals.
Find a new XR-7 trunk lid badge
Rewire the rear indicators to be switchable between sequentail and UK mot legal.
Paint and underseal the underneath of it.

I shall cross 'em off as I go. smile
