Its safe to say I absolutely love it Had it just over two months now and the smile still has not left my face every time I take it out

Nice car
I hear the pistons have a habit of melting on these though? (at least its under warranty )...I assume
Its not that common. Only when mapped. I hear the pistons have a habit of melting on these though? (at least its under warranty )...I assume
My bad if this isn't the case
Thanks.. I hadnt actually realised just how long it was I had been lurking here! Pretty much a daily visitor to the website, and can quite often be found browsing the forums on here at work when I should be doing other things
From what I have heard as long as you treat the car sensibly they are reliable. Ie.. allow them to warm up and cool down as you should with any turbo, and another thing is apparently you shouldnt drive them hard on less than 1/4 of a tank as there can be fueling issues I believe. As long as you follow those rules it should be all good.
Plus.. as you say, its under warranty for another two and a half years so even if it does go it should be covered!

and as STEVE SMITH said; You seem to have done plenty of homework so I hope all goes well and you enjoy
Good little car, enjoy it........
My wife has had hers now for just over 3 years and she still enjoys running it about, its her shopping trolley lol, it was mapped a month after she got it and to date its not been in for any work other than its routine servicing and its first MOT.......Treat it well and it will keep you happy.

I really really like these, yours in particular looks a very nice example. From what I have heard as long as you treat the car sensibly they are reliable. But if they have mass produced a car with a fuel system that's not able to handle the cars acceleration that's pretty shoddy!
Lovely mate - had one exactly the same as my last car (except the alloys). Great fun to throw around on the right bit of road, quite a bit of poke from the 1.6T too! Agreed with everyone else about the seats; they are a sensation! Extremely comfortable but massively hugging and they also look brilliant!
IMO the piston issue is not as bad as the world of internet forums makes out - mine covered 63,000 miles and although it had quite a few small issues, the engine was sweet as a nut the whole time.
Enjoy
