RE: WildfireS3's Austin Mini Cooper S
Discussion
Hi, wildfire. Just reading the PH news as we have a power-cut (lap-top before you ask!) noticed you have a proper 'S'. Not only that, but probably one of the last if it's a '71. I had a '69 many years ago and after a slight excursion to the far kerb in the snow have experience in changing front/rear subframes, rear radius arm replacement, total engine rebuild (while it was out) etc. I drove this car 4-up (2 drivers) non stop to Spain! Added an aux radiator in front of the grille plumbed into the heater circuit and controlled by the heater pull-knob control. Got any detail pics of the car?
ATB, Roger.
p.s. - parts for the engine were f'ing expensive even back then - e.g. valve-stem seals.

Hi Roger
Actually my father has an original '72 Special Order Black Cooper S, which is K reg, had it's engine done up by Swiftune a few years ago. This car compiments my 71 S. Great car and it should be going around April for mini 45 if we can get it to pass an MOT. It hasn't been on the road since 1984.
Here is a pic of my 71 S
Am fully versed in taking minis apart and putting them back together as I basically built the green/grey on in my profile.
