Last weekend we finally took delivery of our Land Rover. Have wanted one for as long as I can remember so it is good to finally get behind the wheel.
Set out with the intent of getting a 200 or 300 TDI but deep down we secretly wanted the V8. Partly for the pulling power, but mostly for the noise! Oh the noise!
So we now own a 110 County Station Wagon with the full 12 seats. Being honest though, I'm not convinced that anyone could actually sit comfortably in the centre seat at the front. So a cubby box sits there instead. The Landy has only done 64k miles from new and only had two owners. Not bad for a 1989 pre-Defender model. Got a few issues to sort out, namely a leaking rad and a couple of minor oil leaks, but under specialist inspection, the chassis is great and the engine strong. So the most important two things are OK (touch wood).
The running costs associated with the V8 have been softened slightly with an LPG conversion. Very clever conversion as the LPG tank is where the fuel tank used to be and there's a small 20 litre fuel tank beneath the front seats. At less than 50p a litre, LPG makes good sense right now.

Will update info as time goes by. Next step now is to get the urS6 into semi-retirement and give her some well deserved attention.
