Hi, really like the forum. But, to me speed doesn't matter... I enjoy sitting in the slow lane in my '64 Kombi, taking it easy.
This is my first car, which I got at the age of 17... Didn't pass my driving test til I was 18 though, so it sat in the garage for a while, but the day after passing my driving test, I went from driving a modern RHD hatch back to an old LHD van, lol. Was quite an experience. It has been lowered around 4-5 inches all round, and if I keep it, I intend to get it on the deck as much as possible. I'll be more than happy going low and slow biggrin

I love my van, and I love photography, so heres a few pictures I've taken of it which I like.

Cheers,
Jamie

love it

don't change it all, it's low enough, leave the odd-coloured patches, just keep it running well

I'm not sure if it's cool or a little but tragic for a young person to drive a camper van...

Regardless, it looks very nice and I bet you could have some good fun with it. smile

Hehe, they are uber cool, but unfortunately its up for sale at the moment, as I fancy a change - I've been driving it for 2 years now and fancy having a proper daily driver and a slammed aircooled dub, lol.

Cheers mate biggrin Hehe, glad you like it - I must admit, I think it'd look sweet as a few inches closer to the floor.

Thanks! Really quite surprised people think its low enough, I think it looks like a 4x4 haha.

Haha, why on earth would it be at all tragic? I personally think its really cool, as it was my dream vehicle when I was growing up (just from having seen them while I was on holiday in Cornwall). All the women I tend to meet seem to love my bus, haha, so it can't all be bad. But yea, its hella fun, and I really enjoy driving it and going to VW shows in it. Also, going to Cornwall in it for the first time ever, in like 25 days biggrin Absolutely can't wait, as going down with some friends and its going to be epic biggrin

Oh, and rock & roll bed in the back is always good wink

Oh, and heres some of my VW based artwork that I do (a much much much more detailed and complex version of busselecta basically).
As it came out of the factory, and as it is now:

And, the plan, if I keep it:

Funnily enough, my first car was a Rover saloon with the rear seats removed so I could fit a divan mattress in the back. laugh

Thanks smile Yea, definately needs slamming if I keep it. I'd not been able to afford to do anything to it other than fix and drive it, since I bought it, but a couple of weeks back I won an absolute bargain of an adjustable beam on ebay and got some free steelies that I was gonna stick some lower profile tyres on - But, then I heard about my dream car coming up for sale, so doesn't look like I'll be keeping it to get it lower.

Obviously if it doesn't sell, I'll be getting the beam on ASAP, and a friend has offered to help me raise the steering box 40mm to help with ground clearance (it scrapes on speed bumps if fully loaded or taken to quickly/or a combination of the two), which will be necessary for going much lower.

I think you'll regret it if you sell it. Everyone I know who's ever had a camper regrets selling them.

Hehe cheers, I think you're probably entirely correct. As far as I can work out, camper prices are defying the rest of the economy, and are still rising in value - which means the chances are if my bus does sell, I'll probably never be able to afford one again, lol. But, I think it may be worth it for the aircooled VW I intend to buy biggrin

Hehe, that would be telling wink Its another aircooled VW, its still in its original paint, and its ridiculously low. Hopefully it'll be mine in just over a month, if my bus sells. I can't really say anything else yet, so, will just have to wait and see hehe.
