Hi, really like the forum. But, to me speed doesn't matter... I enjoy sitting in the slow lane in my '64 Kombi, taking it easy.
This is my first car, which I got at the age of 17... Didn't pass my driving test til I was 18 though, so it sat in the garage for a while, but the day after passing my driving test, I went from driving a modern RHD hatch back to an old LHD van, lol. Was quite an experience. It has been lowered around 4-5 inches all round, and if I keep it, I intend to get it on the deck as much as possible. I'll be more than happy going low and slow
I love my van, and I love photography, so heres a few pictures I've taken of it which I like.
Cheers,
Jamie

I'm not sure if it's cool or a little but tragic for a young person to drive a camper van...
you've obviously never been a teenager that was into corrupting teenage girls(my first 'car' - 76 bay window van with a sofa bed in the back)

Don't ever sell it!!!!!!
Splitties are Uber cool!
Hehe, they are uber cool, but unfortunately its up for sale at the moment, as I fancy a change - I've been driving it for 2 years now and fancy having a proper daily driver and a slammed aircooled dub, lol. Splitties are Uber cool!

love it
don't change it all, it's low enough, leave the odd-coloured patches, just keep it running well
Cheers mate Hehe, glad you like it - I must admit, I think it'd look sweet as a few inches closer to the floor.don't change it all, it's low enough, leave the odd-coloured patches, just keep it running well

Cool ride. I also think it low enough.
Thanks! Really quite surprised people think its low enough, I think it looks like a 4x4 haha. B3njamin said:

Regardless, it looks very nice and I bet you could have some good fun with it.
Haha, why on earth would it be at all tragic? I personally think its really cool, as it was my dream vehicle when I was growing up (just from having seen them while I was on holiday in Cornwall). All the women I tend to meet seem to love my bus, haha, so it can't all be bad. But yea, its hella fun, and I really enjoy driving it and going to VW shows in it. Also, going to Cornwall in it for the first time ever, in like 25 days Absolutely can't wait, as going down with some friends and its going to be epic Regardless, it looks very nice and I bet you could have some good fun with it.
Oh, and rock & roll bed in the back is always good

Very cool mate, I'm with you though, get it slammed!
Thanks Yea, definately needs slamming if I keep it. I'd not been able to afford to do anything to it other than fix and drive it, since I bought it, but a couple of weeks back I won an absolute bargain of an adjustable beam on ebay and got some free steelies that I was gonna stick some lower profile tyres on - But, then I heard about my dream car coming up for sale, so doesn't look like I'll be keeping it to get it lower. Obviously if it doesn't sell, I'll be getting the beam on ASAP, and a friend has offered to help me raise the steering box 40mm to help with ground clearance (it scrapes on speed bumps if fully loaded or taken to quickly/or a combination of the two), which will be necessary for going much lower.

I think you'll regret it if you sell it. Everyone I know who's ever had a camper regrets selling them.
Hehe cheers, I think you're probably entirely correct. As far as I can work out, camper prices are defying the rest of the economy, and are still rising in value - which means the chances are if my bus does sell, I'll probably never be able to afford one again, lol. But, I think it may be worth it for the aircooled VW I intend to buy John L said:
