My old Landy - repurchased and the best father's day present
Discussion
In 1993 to 1995 I owned VBW748X, a LWB CSW 109 in lovely condition. Slow as f*ck but full of character. I had to sell her as I was doing too many miles and my ears were always ringing.
I have always wanted her back, and leave an ebay search running which I always check every day. I originally bought her out of my father's inheritance money. Lo and behold there she was, and I won her last night. I was the second owner after a college and sold her with 35k, she now has 106k but looks in fair nick, I have not actually seen her yet! I will post more photos when she rolls off the transporter, she has been off the road for a few years.
I now have the space and time to keep her as a second car, and with luck will never have to sell. The downside is that she is not eligible for classic tax, but insurance should be under £100 and she will run on vegetable oil when converted.

Seems to have survived the intervening 15 years and 70k quite well, will need doorcards for the front someone's dog seems to have got loose in there.
Its still got its overdrive by the look of it. I wonder if she will feel a lot sloppier after the 15 years, I suspect not as it was always sloppy! I might get overtaken by milkfloats and kids on scooters, but this will be the coolest school run vehicle on the block!

Congratulations on the new purchase, i've recently bought a 2A truck cab... for all it's 'character' and the bad mouthing it gets when it randomly cuts out in the middle of nowhere i secretly love it. Door cards though???? Luxury!!Its still got its overdrive by the look of it. I wonder if she will feel a lot sloppier after the 15 years, I suspect not as it was always sloppy! I acknowledge that as the last of the line of the Series III this is very much a soft land rover with plusher seats and a headlining.I spoke to the ebay dealer finally today, I was getting a bit paranoid that it had sold too cheap and they were backing out of the deal, but they seem happy to take my money. My wife whilst keen for me to repurchase the old landy wants the house finished before restoration starts, and all repairs to get it roadworthy will have to be done in secret!
