Evening All,

Been a bit of a lurker on here for a while now and have enjoyed seeing and hearing about other peoples motors so thought it was about time I posted up some pics of my cars.

I don't have any pictures of my 1st car which was a MK II Fiesta XR2. It was a total rust bucket that I spent a fortune on (I still haven't learnt!!) and in the end I wrote it off spinning it on a roundabout.

My 2nd car was a 205 XS, I wanted a GTI but at the time I couldn't afford the insurance.

After having it about a year I ended up doing this to it.

Had a bit of a break from cars with university etc, when I got my 1st job I bought a very ropey late 205 1.6 GTI that I had had grand plans to restore to its former glory. Again I spent (wasted) a lot on this car and in the end I lost interest and ended up selling it to some chap in Slough for £250.

First semi decent car was my Peugeot 206 GTI

Good car, never went wrong but ultimately it was too slow and boring - I sold it and bought this.

Loved this to bits, spent an absolute fortune on it, fixing it when it went wrong. It had a hard life before I owned it and I got fed up of having to shell out shed loads of cash so last month I chopped it in for this.

It is a Clio 200 with cup pack and Recaro seats. Was rather underwhelmed with it initially after the Trophy but I'm now really getting to grips with it and I love it. It's loosened up nicely, feels really planted, although heavier and the brakes are immense. I had 4 pot brakes on the Trophy but they are nothing compared to the 200 brakes. Plans are to keep it bog standard and enjoy driving it.......

Cheers,

Patrick

Good selection of cars there. Are those last pictures taken at Loch Lomond?

Nice collection. My first car was a 205 XS too and was always reliable when looked after and serviced regularly. The engine went on mine and it ended up being given away because it was cheaper than getting the scrap man to come and collect it.

The 200RS does look nice. I've been thinking about getting one, but took the Rallye out again this morning and love it too much to part with it just yet. You should have a look at the parts that Streamline Carbon are doing for the new Clio models though. You might be tempted to change a few bits wink

Cheers for the comments!

The XS met its end because I thought I had more ability than I actually did - it bit back and spat me into the ditch.

Here is a better picture of the damage that I did.

The pics of the 200 were taken actually taken in the Lake District on the banks of Ullswater as I was up there a couple of weeks ago.

I am going to be keeping it standard for the meantime - the only thing I'm really tempted by is the black speedlines as I think they really set it off.

Thanks,

Patrick

What was wrong with the last motor? Electrical problems or more serious? Are they that unreliable? They do look very chuckable and fun.
You see, I've only drove a 1.4 version so far on 07 plate as rental.

No it wasn't unreliable, it was more to do with how the previous owners had treated it. If you can get hold of a good one you won't regret it. The Trophy is a fantastic motor!
