Lovely.I'll be up there tonight when the football clears the roads.Even better now the faulty SPECS cameras have scared everyone away!

The fault lies in the positioning.(although there are a number of bikers who believe the fault is digital)

I shall explain:

The first two cameras,Walker Barn and just after the pub,are redundant because of the Wildboarclough shortcut, which as you know starts and finishes BETWEEN the two cameras! Work it out for yourself.

The section after the pub and into Buxton is,although picturesque, the least rewarding to drive and I would not risk speeding there, whatever the small talk.

Which means that if you drive up from Macc you can do the most exciting part of the "circuit",the five miles to the Cat and Fiddle, and only pass one camera anyway!Turn around in the pub carpark and do the bendy bits as many times as you want.To avoid every camera, come up from Macc Forest and do the same circuit, but turn at the Walker Barn layby.

I would like to add that this has also led to a noticeable drop in the number of mobile race marshalls...

that is amazing, i did wonder how certain people where getting away with the speed they were doing!!

now all i have to keep an eye out for are the helicopters! - has anyone seen these in action??

It saddens me that the Police use helicopters to manage speed - what a ridiculous waste of money. It must couple of grand an hour to keep a chopper staffed and in the air. Bonkers UK.

Are the police genuinly using helicopters to track speeders?

The police helicopter has not been seen since the SPECS system has been put in place.

i also like doing the congleton to buxton road as it has some really testing corners and big banks with tight turns to really test the car to its limits.
