Hi
After using the classified and reading the news section for years and years I can't believe it's taken me this long to register on the ph forums..!
Anyway, thought it would only be polite to put up a few pictures of my current car as a way of saying hello.
This is Starbuck - so named because she's a frothy little thing...and I'm addicted to Starbucks mocha.
And my last car was named Galactica and this thing's so small it could probably fit in the old one. (Yeah, I'm a nerd).
(I can't tell you how clean that engine bay is....the last owner had OCD).
She's a '99 1.6 import Roadster, fairly stock but with some nice extras like a fruity sounding stainless backbox, a K&N Typhoon induction kit, a genuine Mazda removable hardtop, and because I use her for work and do a lot of mileage I also fitted a fairly decent stereo setup with a double din touchscreen pioneer thing that plays pretty much anything you can throw at it and has an in-built parrot bluetooth phone system.
The thing that gets me is just how much fun it is - I thought coming from a semi-track prepped 200bhp Prelude down to this weedy 120bhp thing was going to be painful, but it's such a hoot you kind of forget about the missing power because you're too busy trying to resist playing in the upper revs all the time and kicking the back out at every opportunity
Anyway, comments welcome, and I'll see you around the forums

I must admit to a bit of ignorance when it comes to Mazda mods, as I've been heavily into Hondas for the last 8 years. The induction kit claims a guaranteed power hike, not that I'd be able to tell you either way but it certainly sounds nice and furious. Is a big cone a good or bad thing on this engine?

You're not going to gain anything by making it smaller! It's probably overkill for a little 1.6, but makes no odds and it's there now so don't worry about it!Edited by Doniger on Saturday 12th June 14:58
