i picked up my new car friday afternoon.
only managed about 200 miles in it since (it's not helped that i'v been ill the last two days) very frustrating not driving around at more than 3500rpm for the first 600 miles.
anyway here are a couple of pictures, the green one is my friends standard 200 with all the trimmings and mine is the white cup.
i'm enjoying it so far.
hopefully i'll get a chance to give it a wash and get some decent pictures if i can get a bit more well and find the time.
one thing im wondering is when you step on the throtle there is what feels like a step in the progresion. anyone know what that is about? iv never had that in any other car........

yeah brand new, i spent so long thinking about it (never thought i'd buy a brand new car) but the way they do the finance and my sercumstances etc, it actually workes out better than the second hand cars i was looking at. i'm very happy with it, although i did have a "what have i done" moment as i signed the paper work.
Nice car mate! I've had mine a month & love it to bits! The step in the throttle is the switch fo the cruise control (So I've been told) with yours being a cup you wont have the cruise (or did you spec it) So i'm guessing all the throttle pedals are the same in the 200's.
Once you get it run in you wont stop smiling!!!

Stop thinking and start doing...
I waited over a month till I did it, I'd have done the 600 miles by now.
On that note, do modern cars need running in these days? I'm of my dads generation when it comes to stuff like this. "you need to run that in son" But the dealer never said anything I got the run in period off of the Clio forum and other posts.
So what's the rub?...

Very nice, white is definitely the colour for these! I noticed you had a Megane Dynamique S2 before this, I've got a 5dr of similar vintage, did you have any problems with it? I'd love to replace mine with an R26 or something after Uni when I have some money but I've had quite a few niggles with mine and it's almost put me off Renault again
I don't mind saying about the finance no, I did it basses on the give it back, swap it, keep it or walk away type deal, sure it had a name but it varies from dealer to dealer. The rate is 4.5% for the two years that I have agreed to so either way it's the cheapest way to start the deal. The second hand options I was looking at were lotus S2 or s2000 where it would have been 300ish over 3-4 years at about 7% or more. As I want the options after 2 years, this made the best option for me.
As for the megane, never had any real problems other than...
It would leak into the door pocket
lightbulbs were impossible to replace and seemed to last 10minutes
the clutch started to make bad smells at 60k but mr clutch said couldn't find fault with it...very strange.
I loved the car, it pulled
well (not the girls so much) crused at 2000rpm had auto lights wipers etc which was nice. And still did 45mpg if you were "spirited".
I did take some more pictures....
If I get a chance i'll post them up

Not experienced the R26 but I do have the Cup and I've been running it for 1 and a half years. No problems with it whatsoever apart from a lightbulb that I cunningly had replaced under warranty. Love the Clio 200 though, I almost got a 197 myself
I am looking into ordering one of these today (as I have found a very good deal) but have a few questions before I go ahead.
Here is the spec I want.
Clio 200 Cup
Glacier White
Recaro Seats
Mats
TOTAL £17,785
Questions... is the radio standard? On the price list it is mentioned in the standard equipment, yet it is also in the options list for the Cup (£280) Can someone confirm.
Is the air con worth having? I want as basic car as possible but is this an option that is really needed in a small hatch?
Are the speedline alloys any lighter? What advantages do they give over the standard 5 spokes, or is it just a 'looks' thing?
Do the rear seats have ISOfix? If not can it be retro fitted? Its not listed as available on the Cup...
Thanks
Lee

Thanks for the info Leaks-wise, it did into the passenger side underfloor bin, but doesn't seem to now, and used to get into the Body Control Module (a design flaw) which over time corroded everything and shorted the car... Mine'll hit 60,000mi in the next month or so, currently suffers from an intermittent starting/stalling problem Mines got all the toys bar the digital climate, cruise and sunroof but only manages a wallet raping 20ish mpg when going for it and 38mpg on a steady run...As for the megane, never had any real problems other than...

quick update.
i'm currently getting 34mpg. but i have been keeping it under 3500rpm like a good boy (done about 300miles now). I'v been getting to that 3500rpm quite quick so i still think thats not bad at all. in fact slightly better than a 1.4 megan it would seem (bizarre)
i got the AC partly for resale and partly for the fact i hate windows down on the motorway (only the motorway mind) and it's nice if you're dressed up and dont want to arrive with a girlfriend screaming at you for destroying her hair
i got lucky and the dealer had already got the exact spec i wanted so had the one in the showroom!

Well after spending all day ringing dealers all over the country no one had a physical car... but I managed to find a cancelled factory slot for end of July delivery.
So I went ahead and ordered it... now just got to wait 8 weeks! Cant wait it should be the perfect little car for popping to the shops via my favorite B road.
I went for a 200 Cup in Glacier White with Recaro Seats...
OP: Do you have the recaro seats in yours? If so do you have any photos of them?
