New Addition - SLK 55 AMG

Picked it up a few weeks ago and only have just got round to taking a few photo's of it - the sound out of it is something else





And here it is with my AC Cobra 212 S/C - large engine in a small sports-car - sound familiar

One of the guys in the office has an SLK55, he's just had an X-pipe fitted and, by crikey, it sounds incredible now..

How are you finding it to drive? I had one on my list "next" list, along with an Elise and T350, but scrubbed it based on people opinions of the autobox, and many saying the SLK350 was the better car, although clearly lacking the fireworks of the '55...noticed you've owned a few Elises, so interested in how your finding it...

We have a 350,
would love a 55
just watch for water in the boot under the spare on the tools
if it is there, I have a guide to curing it.

I haven't had the chance to drive a 350, but for me the 55 and *that engine* really do make it a great package.

It's very different and to a certain extent less involving than the Lotus's I've owned, but it's just so effortless at going and sounding very fast. I know they were the pace cars during F1 a few seasons ago and certainly have a rapid GT about them - very different to the highly strung Exiges.
