My Cars - Focus RS and Rallycross Mini
Discussion
I thought I would share my cars with you all, I enjoy reading this section of the site so I thought it was about time I added to it!
I'm nearly 24 and when I passed my test at 17 I started with a 1 litre Lupo which I kept for a few years, this was replaced with an Arosa Sport which had twice the hp of the Lupo (100 as opposed to 50!). It was a fun little car and I modified it a little bit with some OZ alloys and coilovers:
Last year after much deliberation on what to get next I bought a Focus RS! Completely standard - number 0460:
It has a splitter on the front and that's it, completely standard and that's the way I intend to keep it. There are so many modified ones now that decent standard examples seem to be increasingly difficult to find. It took me a while to find this one! It's a great car, much quicker than anything I had driven before and so much fun on a twisty (and smooth!) road.
My other car is a rallycross mini, I have been building this with my dad - with interruptions such as moving house and going to uni - for about five years. It had it's first run out at a trackday at Teesside in February and we plan to use it a bit more this summer, there are still a few little jobs to finish off but it's pretty much there. It started out as a 1979 850 city and now has a metro 1275 engine 1 3/4 carb, cage, polycarb window, fibreglass front and boot etc:
Thanks! Nick.

I bet that mini is so much fun! how much does it weigh and do you have any power figures for it?
Not sure on the actual figures, an mg metro as standard makes 75bhp so maybe around that or a bit more hopefully! Weight wise, not much! When we move it around the garage one person on each rear wheelarch and we can just about pick it up!rallycross said:
great to see people building mini's for rallycross are you going to do some BTRDA events with it?
Hopefully we'll do some of the MDA Sprints at Blyton in the summer, see how that goes and then try some Minicross! That is what it was built for afterall. (Might have to loose the slicks for that though!) Fartgalen said:
