Anyone chipped their E46 M3? Considering DMS Automotive, who delimit and get 370bhp. Comments or suggestions gratefully received.

Batster, let me know if you go ahead mate, and what the results are like....I'm keen to do something, but not sure what yet....S/C? Turbo? But 370 from a chip sounds a bit ambitious isn't it?

"bluesatin" has had his E46 M3 chipped. Not sure who did it though.

Look forward to his response. I also spoke to a guy at CA Automotive and they do it on a rolling road for about same money and expect to get about 25-30 bhp extra out of engine "depending on the engine" (I thought all would be same on E46 M3 but apparently not...)

Am considering it as the extra oomph should be amusing...

You'll find most of what you need to know on the 'tuning and modifications forum' on www.bm3w.co.uk. You can also gain access to information from our friends across the pond on Roadfly (http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e46m3/)and a very informative site (http://m3.madrussian.net/modnotmod.shtml)that discusses the folly of most hyped tuning claims.

Bottom line is that chip tuning does not work on the E46 M3, you need to improve the volumetric efficiency of the engine which means exhaust, intake and valve opening. No tricks, just good old fashioned tuning.
