The Mrs car: Alfa Brera Prodrive edition SV6.

No mods as yet, but once the warranty runs out in 2 years then it may get some supercharger treatment. I think it needs it, despite the ~270bhp lump. Its standard guise runs 19" Prodrive Magnesium rims, Prodrive custom exhaust, Bilstein suspension and some excellent tracking / handling tweakery.

Mine: Audi RS6.

Mods: Miltek Resonated (quieter) catback system, MRC Hi Flow filters, MRC Custom mapping (inc gearbox map) to 510bhp / 540lb/ft, Bilstein PSS9 fully adjustable coilovers, Forge Diverter Valves and Titan wheels off the RS6 Plus edition. Beleive it or not it gets better mpg than the Brera by a long way, and less than half the yearly road fund cost too. Result!!

Some more arty(???) shots after a good wax.

What a fantastic pair of cars, I'd take the Audi over the Brera though. Loving the grey and grey look on it too.

Im trying to get her to come to one of the local meets but she's affraid to commit as she says she knows nothing about cars. She obviously knows something cos she picks them well. She drives them well too!!

LOVE the RS6 - looks so much better as an Avant than a Saloon. Gorgeous!

Seeing your RS has now made me look into buying one as our family car, I thought I'd settled on getting an E55 AMG but think the Audi has won my heart now!

Its an awesome car and perfect for use as a family transporter, although mine ony ever has a dog and the wife for company. You get so much luggage space its unreal. If you do go for one then be very fussy about the one you choose and drive half a dozen or so to get a feel for good and bad ones. Gearboxes are the biggest worry (£7k bill) amongst owners and they go without rhyme, reason or warning. DRC (suspension) is the other issue, but so long as you buy one with coilovers fitted then you wont have to worry about regular £2k bills. If you can find one with an Audi warranty then you are 99% safe. Just go for it.

Its bloody rapid (especially with the MRC mapping), sounds amazing even with the standard exhaust and every time you drive it its a pleasure. I wont part with mine now, and when i upgrade to the new C6 RS6 in a year or so then the C5 will go in the garage to be stored and driven only on special occasions.

Thanks for the reply,

Yeah I've read numerous horror stories about big bills relating to DRC and Gearboxes.

Currently trying to structure a deal on a car with audi all component warranty so hopefully that will give me peace of mind and I'll just keep renewing it to keep me covered!

cheers

Just a quick one on the Audi warranty. Since they introduced the R8, Audi have increased the yearly premium to £2700. Holy cow! I only found this out today, so if you can manage it then aim for a big discount.

Well picked it up yesterday and I can't see me stopping smiling for a long time!! Its the plus model and has Audi all component warranty till sept, a separate warranty on the DRC and the most important thing is it has a milltek fitted!!!

I really can't believe how much power the car has, it's not a kick in the back like other cars I've owned it just gathers pace so quickly it's amazing. I can see why people who own them say they will never sell them.

Well chuffed!

That RS6 looks mega blah I would love one of these, but I think it would take a good few years to be able to afford one with scary running costs like that floating about.

But, again, that car is amazing biggrin
