While on my holidays, I met up with a mate a found his concours winning 1974 280SE in his workshop. Found on ebay, one owner, always garaged, never driven in the rain etc. Needed very little work when he picked it up, and has to be one of the few 280SE's in that condition in the world, due to the V8's being more desirable.

Ok, my mate has a serious OCD problem hehe

Just found this too for those who like this kind of stuff:
Here is his write up (with loads of photos) on the cleanup engine, and interior - even the old MB anoraks are impressed!

That looks gorgeous.

Were they all fuel injected in '74 or just the higher spec cars? I take it's some variation of K-Jetronic fuel injection?

Bob, check the link wink

74 was D-Jetronic apparently.... Later cars were K Jet.

I'll give it a good look.

Stunning car smack. I'd love an old Merc like that to tool about in.

That is v.nice.
I saw a dark green 280 on the M4 this morning.
I don't really get the whole " White " car thing but it definetly does suit the older Benz and Rollers. thumbup

I really like that. The inside seems to have an air of quality you don't see to find these day's.

looks like it's in Australia. Very popular colour cos of its heat reflecting properties

I love that. My Dad had a W116 in signal red with tan MB Tex when I was younger (great colour combo).

I will definitely own one one day. A proper Mercedes.
