Hi, my friend has rebuilt my Westfield SEiW over the Winter and I popped over to his house last weekend to see the progress! he has done an AMAZING job.... so wanted to show it off as am SOOO pleased with it and can't wait to get it out on road and track.

It was only meant to be a cheap bit of fun... but as normal with me it got totally out of hand!

This is an earlier pic he showed me off the dash when he powered it up

This was the car when I bought it... its been quite a journey as you can see! and a hell of alot of work for my mate.

its a totally new car now to be honest! even the basic chassis was altered and strengthened.

MASSIVE thanks to my friend Stu... I have an AIM smartycam system for the car as well, so should have some good vids to upload soon smile

The full and very long story with spec change after spec change and constant goal post movement can be seen here

Fantastic looking car!

I've been following the build on Passion Ford and the work/attention to detail that has gone into this is amazing.

Can't wait to see some video, it's going to be rapid!

Looks great and should go well too. Fingers crossed for some decent weather to enjoy it properly.

Bit of advice though (which I in no way should detract from the already impressive build), i'd rubber mount the ERL water pump because when pumping they vibrate like a gooden when solid mounted and yours is straight onto fibreglass which may make it sound a lot worse vibration wise.

Nice piece of kit! I had a 1700 xflow many years ago, a complete dog but SOOO much fun, I can't even imagine how rapid this is going to be.

Looks awesome, it also seems that your daughter does the same mine - stands on the exhaust to get in

I really like the diffuser, it is something I would really like to do to mine, does the leading edge of it run level with the floor or is it below it (any pics)

Yes runs level with the floor, so flat underneath

Got loads more pics of all the trick bits and bobs if people are interested. Just didn't want to bore people!

Not my daughter my the way! wish she was... thats the guy who has built it for me little girl.... I was left in charge of her whilst he took my Ferrari out. She LOVES cars!

Update... I just called him to say you need someone made a great point and you need to rubber back it....

he laughed.

and said... IF that water injection pump comes on, you will be doing properly 7000rpm in 3rd or 4th gear at over 2bar of boost.... he said you wouldnt be able to hear concorde above the noise of the car let alone a Water injection pump!

He has one on his own car (a 550bhp Westfield that makes mine look pony) and said it won't be a problem.

Thanks for the heads up though mate. smile

No worries Lee. I know what he means about the noise etc in these crazy turbo powered bath tubs as I also have good experience. I guess once yours is running you'll see whats acceptable, guaranteed fun though smile

To be honest... I STILL think YOU are gonna be correct... his car is ALOT louder than mine.

That pump will hardly EVER run though to be honest!

I helped convert a Caterham 7 which originally had the Vaux 2l 16v lump on carbs fitted and then swapped that engine for the C20LET turbo engine which was slightly fettled and running 280bhp.

Also I have co-built with my mate a Dax Rush. This originally had a pinto lump but we ripped that out and again fitted the Vaux C20LET turbo lump, this was even more fettled running 330bhp & 360ft/lb but as is always the case more power was required so its just been fully rebuilt and should be going for final mapping in the very near future. Looking for 400-450bhp running on Autronic. Can't wait bounce
