Well, i traded in my 197 for an '07 plate Lotus Elise S with Touring pack and lightweight wheels - amongst other options....will get some better pictures once i've picked her up (hopefully Wednesday) but here are some at the dealer i took yesterday.

looks good, what about replacing that suede/alcantara with camo print vinyl wrap?

Looks very nice thumbup. How does it compare to the you previous Clio's? Did you consider an 'R'? I had a play with an 07 Elise S last week in my VX and they were virtually identical in terms of pace.

Is that so - I thought the NA would have been a bit behind the Elise S.

Have you had yours modified?

No mines standard bar an air filter. Bear in mind though that an S has 134bhp and the VX N/A 145bhp and if you look at the performance figures they are very similar.

Tank, Your VX looks brilliant!

Sorry for taking over your thread OP. I would love an Elise like yours - maybe at some point in the future. Do you have any plans for it? Sports exhaust etc.

Best of luck with the new car, you will love the 'S'.

Assume you are getting the car from Graham at Murray Lotus... he sold me an Exige S last month and I was bowled over by the service received.

I had a go in an "S" at Hethel. Perfectly quick enough for sane road use and the driver of an "R" would have to be trying hard to lose you in general conditions. Looks like you have a lovely car there. The lightweight wheels go really well with Storm Titanium.

Going from a 197 to the Elise you'll find the whole experience of going anywhere loads more fun. French hot hatches are completely awesome in their own way though. I find myself joyously chucking the Rallye around just about anywhere, without requiring the mega focus I like to approach driving the Elise with. The rewards of something lightweight and mid-engined manifest themselves differently to hot hatch driving. Hope you're enjoying it.
