Thank guys.

As for the Trophy, still miss it like hell. Havent had a good chance to give the Mini a good go, but I can tell, its certainly quick at reaching high speeds wink

Just sold my wifes though as it was one of the worst cars I've driven!

Looks lovely, I am not a fan of the bini (have a classic one myself) but it does look quite smart and at least has some ooomf to it!

Black on black works, but I'm still not sold by the 'soft' details on the facelifted Minis myself.

seriously?!?! What do you drive normally? I've had a veriety of fast cars and the mini is a real riot behind the wheel, yes the ride is hard but no harsher than a lot of modern hatches.

Looks lovely mate, liking the Black on black, should do it to ours!

Sorry to the OP for going off track!

I think "hatred" may be a little harsh, most elements of the car are great. The ride is terrible compared to anything I've driven recently though (Megane R26, Megane R26.R, Clio Trophy, Clio 200 Cup, MkV Golf R32, BMW 130iM, E90 M3, RS4, even my 20yr old E30!) I'll admit that 90% of it is going to be down to the tyres, but that's how it's sold. I also found that the car just struggled for traction even in a straight line. If it's even slightly damp then full throttle in 1st or 2nd was useless. Ours was a boggo Cooper S and understeer and general front end performance wasn't great either.

I second the handling not being as good as it's raved. I had run flat tyres that may have attributed to the ride. I could never trust taking my favorite b-roads at speed as it's hard to describe but it would hop from left to right at the slightest bump in the road.

That's exactly the problem we found. It inspires no confidence what so ever.

Odd, sounds lie the tires, what run flats were you running? Personally I love the toquey lack of grip(which is what evo hinted at in this months test, it's a hoot!)

However ours certainly doesn't hop about etc and it's a boggo cooper s
