Currently got two civics that make up my fleet, first one is my first car; started life as an import EG4 1.5 VTi two years ago when i bought it. Since then it's had; 3 engine changes, 4 gearbox upgrades, 2 LSD changes, 3 sets of seats, 3 increases in brake size, 3 sets of wheels and a hell of a lot more odds and ends, as it's been a play toy which i've constantly upgraded whenever any money was sitting free.

Couple of pictures from previous years

At present it is sitting at my mums' house until i finish uni for the summer so i can get some work done for some summer trips;

B18c ITR motor.
EK9 civic type R pistons
ITR gearbox with spoon LSD and final drive
ITR airbox with spoon drop in filter
Bored, tapered and matched inlet and throttle body
Jasma stamped 4-1 manifold of some description
Spoon B-pipe and N1 axle back
Exedy stage 2 clutch and fidanza lightweight flywheel

282mm twin pot front brakes
262mm rear brakes
15" racing sparco NS2 wheels
HKS hipermax coilovers
Buddyclub camber adjusters
NRG lower tie bars front and rear
98 spec ITR anti roll bars front and rear (with appropriate brackets)
ITR front and rear upper strut braces
B pillar floor brace

Bride zeta 2 fixed seats
96 spec ITR steering wheel
6 point roll cage.

The car more or less sits like this at the moment, still to put the cage and seats in, and the current B16a has to come out in order to swap the integra motor out. All in all it's a very capable car, but not the best daily driver.

Which is where my second civic comes into play. My 2004 cosmic grey EP3

Recently bought this, as i'm a student and work really hard to make my money for cars, i've been driving this like it's made of glass. However today i was having a bit of withdrawal from living back home in a town surrounded by countryside, so went out to see what Dundee had to offer.

Really happy with it, more than capable for a daily driver, and for the occasional hoon. Hopefully just leave this standard and enjoy a car that doesn't compromise all luxuries in order to be a quick car.

That old Civic is amazing and looks so much nicer than the newer one - looks rust free too. My old neighbours had an M reg Civic but it had rust everywhere.

Wow, you never see an EG civic that clean anymore. Any ones I see now are all lowered to the floor, fart can, riddled with rust and awfully tatty like.

Really like it, a lot!

Thanks for the kind words folks.

Really didn't expect the appreciation of my EG to be honest, even though it is pretty much standard exterior wise; the loud exhaust and wheels tend to allow owners of more 'powerful' cars to club it in with the rusty tacky masses of civics in this country.

+200hp and sub 900kg's should be fun with all the supporting parts such as the coilovers and mechanical LSD.

Really wonder if i made the right choice buying the type r as a daily whenever i look and think back on my EG, running it every day for two years with fixed seats, clunky diffs, loud exhaust and harshly valved coilovers was pretty fun. Hopefully return it to daily use in the summer.
