go easy on me im only 17
after i found out the hard way that the punto was rotten, i decided i would go and take a look at buying another car, i coudnt find anything below £600 that was half decent or didnt have intergalactic milage, my brother heard that i was looking for a first car and asked me if i was interested with the above i made a ridicoulasly low offer and proceeded to buy it.
its been in the family from 2 year old so i know that its been looked after well maintened not thrashed etc, the car itself is a 2001 (x) renault scenic megane 1.4 16v car has done 103000 miles but the engine was overhauled 30000 miles ago thanks to a snapped cambelt
believe it or not i can insure it for just under £1900 third party fire and theft which isnt too bad considering it being a 1400cc,
simularly the insurance on the little 1996 punto i had wouldve been £200 more expensive to insure third party only with a tiny little 1100cc
because its soo big inside i thought it would be great for music festivals and chaufforing my friends band around
like i said earlier dont be too harsh on car many thanks dan
cant seem to get pics up ????

Can't see the pics, and if the insurance is 3rd party, fire and theft only, be VERY careful. Having said that, enjoy it, look after it, drive sensibly and have fun!
ETA clicking on the pictures seems to work I like the colour choice. It'll make finding your car in the festival car parks so much easier

My Dad's got one of these, a 1.6 with leather. It's brilliant!! I've taken it to a number of festivals, used it to move 'stuff' and generally driven my parents to places if I want to tag along.
It rates as one of my favourite cars I currently get to drive as it has no pretences and does what it was built for. The other one of my favourite cars is my friends VW Caddy pick-up, cheap and reliable.

i will try to get the pics up tonight, yeh i dont understand myself why the insurance is that high, that was with quinn direct they seem to be the cheapest around,
my dad took me to work in it today fantastic little car, handles like a car and not like a big wollowing barge that it is,
being a 16v it revs pritty high for a 1.4 so goes pretty well not fast by any meens but nippy.
i have been looking to fit my cd player into it because of the simple fact that its currently got a cassette/radio which is pritty naff to be honest though the sound system for stock is pretty good i think this is because of speakers around the car-2 in the dash-2 in the front doors and 2 in the parcel shelf mounts,
i was also looking to buy a full leather interior spotted one on ebay for £150 buy it now which isnt too bad i suppose just need to pass my test and ill be well on my way
i think its a bit different to the normal corsa, saxo, fiestas that other 17 year old are driving around and hopefully mine will have a bit more poke.
i was wondering wether or not to take it up the strip just to get to learn the lights, setting off etc obviosly its not gonna beat anything but practicing with a nippy car will set me up for when i get a faster car

EFA+1 haha
Does seem alot to insure though :/ I paid just under £1000, on my own for a 1.6 saxo VTR. That was fully legit aswell, just haggle them on the phone 100bhp is alot of power for a 17 year old in a lightweight hot hatch !
I think you'de have way more fun in that scenic though for sure !
