After needing a mile muncher for work I bought this 320i touring, and thus started my love with beemers

Spent a fortune on it. Anything that could go wrong did!

Me and the wife went touring around Scotland for our honeymoon in her

On the drive back home the rear shocker popped through the top mount, that was the final straw and off she went on flea bay!

Next up was a e46 320i auto

Thought this was a cheap buy from the auction, how wrong I was!
Needed a new battery, new key, rear spring, and within the first week of owning it the airbag light came on!
never really got on with the auto box and the constant topping up of engine oil ( 1 litre every 600 mile)

After a brief stint with a passat tdi I bought this 318ci se
The colour is a real marmite colour, I loved it whilst others hated the "purple"

Car ticked all the boxes, full leather low mileage, great handling

BUT... I always had a itch for a 330i that needed scratching and bought this beast

330i M sport Touring. Waited for a manual as I'd read about the auto boxes and the issues they can have

Well what can I say about these cars that have not already been said!
Ticks all the boxes as a family car, and gives the same fuel economy as the 320i

So... after two complete knackers you kept on ploughing the same furrow eh? Seemed to turn out well in the end, the 318 and 330s look nice, but I'm not sure i'd have bought a third car of the same model if the previous two fell apart!!

I've been tempted by 325/330 E46 Cabs but I'm beginning to think the potential sting in the tail running costs wise might make me wince a bit. smile

Cheers,
Rob

Nice history, I like your method of 'if at first you dont succeed, try, try and try again!'
I've also caught the BMW bug, though i'm still on my first one.

I should have learnt my lesson after the first one but being an engineer I like to get my hands dirty.

Oh and yes it's sunny Allerton bywater!

Thought so. I used to drive past there a lot as my Grandad used to live in those little prefab bungalows near the dragliner smile
