A few more pictures added further down as promised!

Family circumstances mean the the 350Z had to go - having a two seater as the second family car really was not working.

So off I went to find myself a more sensible car, and bought myself this 4 door automatic with a big boot. Being sensible has never been so much fun!

I was stuck between this and an M3 as I felt there was very little to choose from in the way they drive and perform. However there was a major difference in the kit count per £, and the Lexus dealers were streets ahead of the BMW dealers I had the misfortune to have to intreract with.

Apologies for the picture, the rain of biblical propotions precludes me from taking anything better as yet...

Oh yes, very very nice indeed, and you can almost guarantee you'll never see another one. Not exactly subtle enough to be a Q-car, but I'm sure it will surprise quite a few people!

More pics, and some audio of the V8 woofle/burble please!

Nice.

Not many of those around either, which adds to the appeal.

Good choice.

£4K on a one year old car, but add in the cost of getting a similar spec on an M3 and it was closer to £6K. When new, I think the only option on the IS-F is a sunroof - which mine has, whereas I think you can actually spend another £15K on top of the M3 purchase price in extras.

I did like the M3 though, very much, but the Lexus is just less 'obvious' (if that makes sense?) and the dealer experience really is a world away from BMW (at least from my two local BMW shysters).

nice to be different! theres one that rides past my work and it sounds really nice!

too many M3's and RS4's out there now, plus the lexus has some great styling cues like the exhausts and the way the front wings come round like vents, nice colour choice too!!

smile hehe...

That's just me being a tight-arse who won't block pave the drive....

I did shoot out the playroom window with a pebble once when I inadvertently wheel-spun the 350 when exiting the drive.... paperbag

I assume so! They are a kind of very dark gloss grey, look a little lighter in the metal than on pictures... they don't show up road and dust grime, which is nice..
