Got a new exhaust fitted to my GP yesterday. Not sure if anyone has seen the standard one but it sits too low/far away from the bumper and looks poor. Went to longlife in Leeds and have to say they were superb. Tony was very helpful in my decision of which style to go for and which sound. Ended up going for a twin 3inch tailpipe and a mild note (the quietist one they do apart from silent). Gives a nice little rumble on starting the engine but isn't in your face what so ever. It was a full system from CAT and I'm delighted with the result.

Thoughts?

It's a 1.4 Turbo

They are suppose to be 120 BHP standard but most came out of the factory between 130-140 for some reason. Getting a GSR induction fitted and then a remap at Red Dot in London. This should take it up to 160BHP and close to 200 lbft torque. Want anymore and you have to take the turbo from the Abarth as the t-jet turbo is only small

Definitely needs lowering aswell as it sits too high

160bhp should make that a hoot to drive, one of the better looking super-minis in my opinion. Agree that it does appear to sit a little high, lowering would improve the looks considerably.

Yep

Any ideas what alloys would really suit the car? Been looking but can't decide

I'd stick with what you've got to be honest, either that or a set of white OZ Superturismo wheels like these:

I had a set on my first car (red Citroen C1) and they really set it off well. The reason I changed though was because I didn't like the steel wheels, whereas your car has a nice set of wheels on already. Certainly don't think you should be in a hurry to change them thumbup

Those you posted are nice but I think you are right about staying with what i've got for now.

Going to order some Eibach Sportline springs tomorrow which will lower the car by 45mm on the front and 30mm on the rear. Only issue is where to get them fitted, going to get bummed by any garage I suppose with them charging high labour rate. Need to find a local mechanic out of work who would welcome something to do and a bit of cash in hand

That looks good, exhaust sits nicely. I wouldn't bother with new wheels, get a good suspension system and have it all set up properly, some nice sticky tyres for the oncoming summer and repaint the wheels to make them look different, uprate the brakes if required, get the remap sorted and then you have a standard looking Punto which should be a good drive.

Sleeper style!

Those crazy Italians, always calling the hp figures short by 10-20%.

Always remember that less is usually more when modifying. The exhaust is nice, keep the wheels, get your springs and then concentrate under the bonnet.

I'd paint the wheels black or dark grey, will work well me thinks.

Yeah, I had thought about getting them powder coated. Could do with someone photoshopping that photo to give me an idea of what they'd look like

Red car...black wheels.
It's the law apparently.
But some classic Ferraris were red with yellow wheels.
A colour scheme that I like on certain cars.
Geoff.

All that needs now is a nice 20mm drop on Eibach's or similar and it would look lovely, i really like the exhaust and wheels in all honesty!
