As cold as it looks in the photo's, I hope you had the window down to take in the amazing sound I bet it was making.

No real scary moments - roads were pretty clear, nearly got stuck in a layby in the middle of nowhere after stopping for a photo! rolleyes

Yes it makes a nice noise - needs one of the sports exhaust upgrades to really get a nice loud note from the back - hopefully having it done next month.

Woof! Really liking that James thumbup

What's it like at the day-to-day boring stuff around town ?

Manual or auto ? What's the gearchange like ?

What's the ride like (my BMW on runflats is really bugging me right now) ?

(Sorry for all the questions !)

Its my daily drive & its great, bit thirsty!
Its manual, gearchange is fine.
Ride is good especially day to day - had a Skoda Octavia VRS before it & that was lot harder ride!
Love having something different that turns heads & gets asked about, V8 roar & performance is awesome & love the way it looks, has real road presence.
On the down side interiors abit plasticy oh & ave 16mpg hurts!

Thanks for the info mate biggrin

Definitely my current fantasy car as I need a 4door, want a V8, have budget around £20k and don't want anything too old... come to think of it there's not too much competition hehe

Please keep us up to date with progress if you can be arsed.

One last question - do you feel ok about parking it in the street ?

biggrin Theres nothing that comes close for £££s v performance! It might sound nuts but it was the only thing that I could find that was a bit different & did everything my Octavia VRS did all be it with a bit bigger budget!

That was on of things I was nervous about - it lives on the street outside my house & has to be left overnight on streets when I visit friends etc.

I slept with one eye open for first few weeks but it doesnt seem to attract any hassle - its not too flashy & everyone seems to like it. Also I think the colour helps, would have really liked a white one but think it would have stood out a bit too much for some of the places I have to leave it.

16mpg is actually better than i thought it would get. bet its not hard to find single figures?

what are other running costs like, i see yours is barely a year old, has it seen a service yet?

i read that discs/pads can get a bit silly?

Yes if you press the right peddle at all it drops to single figures! eek
Mines 6mths old, servicing costs are pretty good - one of the few benefits of it being a Vauxhall! Yes the pads/discs are very dear, a few £k for full set last time I heard! Hopefully it will be afew years before they need doing plus there should be some cheaper options by then, if not already?

Must be something wrong with it, 300bhp on here reckons all those LS V8's average 30mpg all day long! hehe

The 5.7's carting around a plastic Camaro do, 6.2's carting around a fully specc'd Holden Commodore do not....

Yup, they are heavy old girls and heavier on fuel than a Monaro or Camaro. I'm very much considering an LS3 R8 to replace the Monaro come the end of the year. Not driven one yet but they apparently feel more nimble that the 'ro even though they are somewhat lardier. That's probably being down to the fact that the chassis wasn't designed in the 80s! Oh and having ~75bhp more will help too.

Not discreet in a bright colour but in black most people will think it's a Vectra with a spoiler and not give it a second look (a good thing in my book).

Very nice pics. Up to Buckstones, down into Denshaw and back home through Ripponden if I'm not mistaken thumbup

I'm sure I saw you driving through Halifax the other week (unless there are two in the same colour in the area) and if so it looked and sounded lovely in the flesh.
