My little box of jap crap
Discussion
Brief car history.. at 17 I had a little Clio 1.2 which was a great little car, never let me down and drove quite well. Next up got a 1.3 yaris which was a sure upgrade gaining a further eight valves, ABS e.t.c
In-between these two owned an '85 golf gti which I made a bit of money on, loved it to bits but was really starting to show its age and just wasn't a practical choice unfortunately.
Now my insurance has calmed down a bit and with 2 years NCB I've upgraded to a Yaris T sport, its not the most powerful or exciting car in the world but I think its a great option at the moment.
Previously owned by a mature lady its done only a gentle clutch blending 21k and I think its buffed up pretty well.
Really nice little bits about it - still achieves just under 40mpg with a case of leadfoot, handles really well and standard suspension is great (if a little high), brakes are sharp with plenty of feel and the short range gearbox makes rural roads a good laugh. 106hp and 900 odd kilo's mean its not too much of a slouch and overall I'm quite proud of it.
Yes those are still on there from new

Small addition to the rear end
Planning on partially debadging the rear, getting a square UK plate for the front, original alloys are suffering some nasty corrosion in places so getting them refurbed in black. Keeping it clean and subtle.

Debadging is good, cleans it up a bit. If it was through the rear window I'd suggest takiblanking off the rear wiper, but it'd look messy on the bootlid.
Personally I'd stick with the standard plate on the front, a square plate wouldn't look right IMO.
Tidy example though, I'm liking the foil still being over the sill protectors!

A sorry looking wheel
Few little updates for you guys (sorry crappy phone images):
Replaced the standard exhaust with a OEM style stainless catback (great noise, lots of pops and bangs!)
Car is lowered 35mm on the front and 38mm on the back using Tein springs (handling is much improved although speed bumps are now more of an issue!)
Debadged the rear and fitted import plates (originally just wanted the front plate but the company messed up my order and sent me a rear aswell)
Still loving it, going to finish it off with some nice little wheels soon.

Nothing wrong at all with your Jap crap. Some of the jap crap boxes are a hoot to drive. Anyway, when I move to Bulgaria, (just put an offer on a house), I'm gonna go local and get a lada Niva, and lift the bugger, and strip the fecker out for off roading, so my crap box will be FAR crapper than yours!
