AC Ace Brooklands- work in progress pics
Discussion
Managed to get a few pictures of my boyfriend's Grandad's AC Ace which he is currently in the process of building, which I posted about previously. Sorry for the quality of the pics, they are on my phone in a dark garage! Its almost mechanically complete now, registered, and some panels have been sent off to be sprayed- the rest of the car is due to follow in the next week. Will get some pictures of the finished product once its back home
Without the bonnet- some panels have been sent to the bodyshop for spraying in Porsche Midnight Blue. Rest of the car has been sanded down ready for the paint:
V8 from a Shelby Cobra:
Not sure if he will keep the AC alloys or not. Could look a little small when finished:
The whole car before it was sanded down and panels stripped off. Old registration has changed to something along the lines of "**** ACE" (forgotten the first few digits!) It will be an absolute monster when complete, can't wait to see it.
Hope you enjoyed the pics, will get the finished car up when its been sprayed and interior has been fitted.
Cheers

I'm sure there's a logical explanation but my tired head can't work out the 09 registration plate with the stone chipped front. Is he building it from new old-stock parts and registered it last year?
He has got great taste
Yeah a warehouse with many Ace cars stored there was burnt down, a lot of the car is constructed from the salvage that was left, eg. some of the bodywork. Not sure exactly what components were from the burnt car but once its completely finished I'll post some proper pics and a full writeup for youHe has got great taste
