Hi Guys and Girls,

Thinking of buying one of the above beasties and would love to here good and bad vibes when looking for a RHD unmolested example. Dealer or Private? What were the factory upgrades available for this beast?

Help would be appreciated before I see and buy the first one I see.

Cheers

Seriously good cars mate:-)Had mine 2 years now.It depends on how long you are prepared to wait to get one, sometimes there are quite a few for sale other times you are lucky if there is 1 or 2, most seem to have quite a few miles on them circa 80-100k for anything from £14-£18k.Lower mileage ones go for the higher end of this if not more, but you do not see many of them. Some colours more desireable ie,Nogaro(RS)Blue, Polar silver...They all come fully loaded, air-con,electric Recaros, either leather or leather/alcantara,17" Cup alloys etc...AFAIK, the only factory upgrade you could have was a brake upgrade,Big reds from a Porsche993 turbo with bigger front discs, drilled and 322mm instead of 304mm.Some(all?)later cars also have a nicer 3 spoke steering wheel as well.In my experience these cars are pretty reliable, they have a few niggles but hey, what car doesn't!!Some other sites that may be of interest are www.rs246.com and the Yahoo Rs2 list..Oh and www.s2forum.com Hope this helps,Dean

Hi,

(this is my first post, by the way)

I've got a couple of scans from Autoexpress, back from when the RS4 came out. They compared it with the S2 - probably not entirely relevant to what you wanted to know but if you're interested I've uploaded them to:
