Hi guys, as the title suggests im new to these forums and thought as i have just got a new car a good way to introduce myself would be to put a few pics of my new car up.
Until a few weeks ago I was still driving my first car that i got when i passed my test at 17 (im now 22). It was a Renault Clio Expression +. It was a great first car started first time everytime and never put a foot out of place. Here it is a few years back in the snow.

Unfortunatly in the snow that has hit the country recently it was crashed into when parked by someone who was driving too fast for the conditions. The damage was so much that it needed to be written off which meant i had the perfect chance to get something a bit quicker.

This is where the Puma comes in. Its the 1.7 lux model and all in all i am very happy with it. Have not had the chance to take it on a nice run yet but i can feel the performance difference just around town. Here are a few pictures after a very quick wash and rub down.

Thanks for the replies guys, i have had a read of the SOTW article had to laugh that it came up just as i bought one made me think i had made a good decision alot of positive feedback about the car on there. It was a shame about the clio it was a brilliant first car and would I would recommend one to any new driver.

Puma looks great. Good colour too, i'm sure you'll enjoy the extra horsepower over the coming months.

Cool, I used to have a Puma just like that. Enjoy it, great little cars.

Also, if you get an induction kit on it the little 1.7 makes a great roar. Bit chavvy, but I loved it biggrin

Thanks for the advice was planning on keepimg it cosmetically standard but an induction kit is something i might look into. Does it increase the performance much?

No not really, just makes it sound nicer and you can hear the change in cam timing at around 4000rpm, sounds really good. They do claim something like 5bhp, but who knows how true that is smile

Id get a Milltek Manifold, Cat & System over an 'induction kit' any day. Personally don't think these engines make much induction noise anyway - even with the FRP manifold which mine had.

I just loved the popping after backing off the throttle..

great choice! im on my second puma now... my current one is a stripped out track toy, i love every second of driving it!!

if your planning on improving the car then the best place to start is uprate the bushes to powerflex ones, then lower on some 30mm eibach springs and fit strut braces all round and it'll handle like its on rails!!

if you havent already then sign up to project puma, its a great owners site and full of info!!

oh and make sure you've had the cambelt done on it!!

That popping does sound very nice perhaps a bit louder than im after tho but thanks for uploading the vids always something to bear in mind.
Will have a look at project puma have had a look at a few dedicated puma sites and they all seem packed with info and good advice.
Cambelt was done by the garage before I picked it up so i wont have to worry about that for a few years hopefully as i dont do that many miles.

Mine made quite a good noise with the "induction kit" that I had (cone filter and cold air feed), cheap too.

It would not have been me driving it but it could well have been the car. I live in Hereford but have just brought it from a garage in worcester. :-)
