Just a quick warning, lots of pictures of small engined cars with some modifications, not PH fashion. So if your not interested, or are going to start a argument on modded cars, click back now! smile

So i'll start off with a bit of info. Bought some Apex 40mm springs off here the otherday, second hand, £50. Looking forward to getting them fitted but i might need some alloys first as the sxi ones i have on now have huge tyres and i dont think they'll fit under the arches. This will be the second mod since i own the car. Quite embarrasing really. Haha, well enough chitter chatting, some pictures

Then here it is this morning. Took it out for a quick spin in the fresh snow, by the time i pulled over to grab a photo most of the snow had gone! Looks more than ready for the springs

Then a little while after i got a call asking if i fancied going up to the hills with a few mates. Mistake! Was a right laugh but we got stuck for a hour and a half in the middle of nowhere with about 5 other cars.

My car was spotless last night after it got washed. Now look at it!

The lad in this Punto only passed his test the otherday hah, not a bad effort!

Sorry about the mass of pictures, hope it didnt take too long to load. I know my cars not that interesting so maybe the others were worth viewing smile

Seems he might still have a lot to learn since from the pictures it seems like the car isn't roadworthy rolleyes

Sorry, im not understanding? Im guessing your reffering to the little handbreak slides? Well come on. No need to jump on your high horse. Its only a bit of fun. Its out in the sticks where theres not a sole about and its at fairly low speed. You where young once wern't you?

go on then you miserable sod, elaborate exactly how the car isn't roadworthy because I've looked at the pics and it seems fine to me.

That SEAT looks daft on those huge tyres. They were too big for the Golf they came on, nevermind a car a size below

Haha give him a break. Someone commented on that on the CorsaC forum too. Hes in the process of lowering the car and changing the tyres. The rear tyres are low profile and its got lower springs on the back. But the front still needs new lower profile tyres on and the springs fitting. Also, give him his due, he was parked on a bit of a slant!

Agreed about the Ibiza, looks like a 4x4 in the group pic!

About DaveL86's comment.. Only thing I can see that would possibly cause him to give that reaction is the picture of the Punto alone makes it look like the front windows are quite heavily tinted - think it's just the photo though as in another photo they look clear as day!

Looks like a fun day out! Nice photos too. Where was it?

Ah quite possibly. I think they might be slightly tinted. But the back windows are allowed arnt they?

It was up near Helmsly (dont know if you know the place), Carlton Bank.

That red Corsa begs the question, Why? Why buy a 4/5seat hatch and replace the rear seats with a stupidly oversize subwoofer... Not really my kinda thing though I suppose, that Ibiza looks like a frickin tractor in the group pic, nice photos though.

ETA: Also, don't get this fad for taking the rear wiper off. I'd be f***ked if my car was without one...

You'll look back on these in 5 years and ask WHY did we spend any money at all on those cars. But its all in good fun I guess. But don't spend too much cash on it, you'll never get it back and vastly narrow the audience when you want to sell it and get something with some go.

Oh yes, im very aware of this. Thats why everything im doing to my car can be reversed once i go to sell it. I bought a seperate V-grill so that i can put the old one back on once im finished. Was going to paint the alloys i have now but again, people i sell it onto might not like it so buying seperate alloys. I've owned the car since July and i've only spend £70 on modifications so far (thats in the last week!). I just want it a little smarted up as it might be the end of the year before i upgrade.

Not local to me but I might have a look around there next time I'm in the NE, cheers smile!

About the tints, rear windows can be tinted as much as you like IIRC, and front windows have to allow over a certain amount of light through - 70% or something I think. No doubt someone will be along who knows a bit more than me!

I don't get why people are so against spending money on first cars - it's your money and if you want to spend it on your car, then do it imo
