G60 Corrado - slightly tweaked
Discussion
This is my daily and project car.
1.9l rebuilt engine, forged pistons, stage 4 charger, stage 4 fast road head, 4 branch manifold, 2.5 custom exhaust, full width FMIC.
Gearbox has VR6 1st, 2nd and 5th gears and a Peloquin ATB. Wheels are Compomotive MO's (I have a set of Ultraleggera's shod in R888 for summer). Suspension KW Variant 1 and H&R ARBs front and rear. Brakes Porsche Boxster 4 pots with AP racing 315mm 2 piece discs.
Fornt bumper has ben modified to improve cooling, and it now has a carbon fibre bonnet (very impressed with it saving over 20kg)
Out of the factory was about 160bhp at the flywheel, now 250bhp and approx 225lbft. Not bad for an 8v engine
Plenty of other plans, just need the weather to be able to do them.

That bumper is definately a love or hate modification. The thought was better airflow given the extra cooling needs. When I first saw it on I wasn't happy, but it has grown on me. Anyway, at the moment I don't have a spare to put back on, but in hindsight I don't think it actually aided cooling significantly. Maybe after the next bit of work it will come in useful. I am planning on nitrous - it appeals to the geeky scientist in me, but will obviously need added cooling.

Good performance mods. Sadly in my opinion you have destroyed the Corrado's good looks by moving the number plate and fitting that second grill...
I'm afraid I must concur also But that said it doesnt detract so much that i can still safely say its a lovely car!
Thanks again for the comments folks. With this as mentioned I've just tried to modernise what is basically a 20 year old car now, and improve the performance aspect of it. The supercharged engine is an absolute revelation for those that have never tried one. It pulls like a much larger capacity unit but without the weight up front. There is instant torque at pretty much any rpm. Tweaking the engine has made it much more usable, as has the ATB diff and suspension. However I didn't want to compromise reliability and life span. The chargers have a bad rep and yes they do need regular maintenance especially when you reduce the pulley size like me, but they are not as bad as a lot of people make out. In the state of tune I have it, it requires a charger rebuild about every 3 years for the mileage I do, so that works out at about £100 a year.

Hi really like your rado can i ask where you got the carbon bonnet from. I cut out my number plate hole in the bumper to aid cooling and moved the number plate to the splitter i think it looks good. I run a 1.9 20v putting out 410bhp and 400lb ft i love it rados are great.
Thanks Sinclair. The bonnet was from Performance Trim, they are a company down on the south coast, and easy to find on Google. Speak to Mike, he is the owner. The bonnets come in a couple of options - all carbon, or for about £100 less carbon outer and fibreglass supports on the inside. The all carbon is about 1kg lighter, but to be honest they are both very very light. 410bhp and 400lbft must be fun...Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
