AC Ace Brooklands
Discussion
My boyfriend's Grandfather has for the past year or so been rebuilding an AC ACE Brooklands, which I believe was badly fire damaged in a warehouse. I may have to be corrected here but I believe it to be one of only around 60 made?
He sourced a Ford 5.0 V8 from the US and after a lot of work has finally got it mechanically fit again, road registered and taxed, interior and the cabriolet roof are very near completion- its off to be resprayed in Porsche Midnight Blue this week. On the rolling road I think its putting out around 300bhp but will have to check actual figures for you. Cannot wait to see it completely finished, its a huge vehicle and has quite a presence to it, as well as sounding fantastic. Gets lots of comments from people asking what it is.
He also has a mid to late 70s Triumph Stag with the Rover V8 conversion, not sure exactly which year, resprayed in quite possibly the shiniest Ferrari Red. Never known a man take such pride in his cars, the tiny wheel brush is out and in action after every trip out
I'm living in Bristol at the moment but I'm heading back home at the weekend for a couple of weeks so I'll try and get some photographs taken to show you guys once its finished. Will be a magnificent machine!
Thanks
Louisa
