Here is my first car 106 1.1 i've since changed my car to a focus 1.6, but i do miss this, it was a great fun car to drive, altho didnt have much power, was good fun! altho it was a pain in the arse when it rained because i then had a swimming pool in the car, altho it was all the fun of having a cheap first car, i strongly recomend any one who is looking for a fun to drive cheap first car to get one! for the year i owned it, nothing went wrong with it mechanically! and that was putting 14000 miles on it as i regulary drove to bristol from the midlands, which i was surprised knowing the repuation of old peugeots

Comments would be appreciated, what did you have for your first car?

I had a Renault 19 GTX, and a pile of st it was too. First cars should always be cheap and cheerful. At least you have happy memories about yours, I don't hehe

I started in a 206 and had similar memories, which then turned into a 106 XSi with a cammed VTS engine and a Motorbike.. which was also great fun.

Little peugeot's are great fun cars to have relatively safe fun in

Your first car was much nicer than mine. I had a 1991 Escort with wheezy 1.4 engine which returned truly awful fuel economy whilst also delivering little to no power. You'd think it would get faster the older it got considering the rate that it was rusting away.

I kept that for 4 years until an icy corner allowed it to bounce off a hedge the day before its MOT giving it bent steering but the thing that killed it was that I was quoted £700 worth of welding to keep it on the road.

haha cheers, but im sure the 1.4 engine had a bit more pace than the 1.1 :P haha sounds like u had a proper first car! not one of these that get a brand new fiesta or somthing boring, having an old first car i'm sure is more fun as theres abit of uncertainy that its not going to start in the morning and then your plesantly surprised when it does.
Thats unlucky though how your car came to an end :/

It was more of a pain how it would break down every month to be honest. The most spectacular failure was when the carb just packed up and if you touched the throttle the engine would die out. Had to do a 3 point turn in a country lane without using the throttle then get towed home by my Dad, I'd made it about 3 miles down the road.

I had a Cavalier 1.7 diesel. Was very very very slow, good on fuel though.

Wasnt a bad first car really, cheap to run, lots of room for driving mates around.

I had a 973cc 12v Corsa for my first car. As I was new to driving and the car had no power (at all) I drove it at 100% all the time and wrecked the engine. Was a blast to drive and no matter how hard I pushed it, got around 40mpg smile

Scirocco GT2, was a lovely dealer plus on lady owner on a J plate had about 75000 on it was in very good condition and unsurprisingly if an inexperienced driver has a 1.8 coupe he will crash it within 2 weeks of passing!

haha yer my mate has one of them, ive drove it on my insurance, it literally does have no power at all, but tbh i think his isn't the best example of that corsa, as the accelerator is preety much seized up, thats preety good mpg for thrashin it round, my 106 got about the same, shame the focus doesn't do nefin like that when i put my foot down :/

First and only car currently is a 1.2 Clio, loving it so far despite the lack of any umph:P yet it's still fun to drive on any B-Road though. It's pretty similar to your 106 with almost identical specs... apart for the leaking sunroof!laugh
