My first spacious & comfortable car :-)
Discussion
Nice. Just bought one myself actually to replace my focus. An estate ghia x, 04 plate. Shamefully it's a diesel and an auto but I just want it for schlepping about in and I have the exige for fun ANC will probably use it to do some big miles. It's only done 34k and my focus has been awesome so hopefully I'll get z good load of miles out of it.

Thats a lot of car for that price!
£3k for a +8 year old Mondeo doesn't scream good value to me, suppose things have gone up in the last year though. Depends on the mileage too.Nice Mondeo there.... I like a good Mondeo me.... that 2.0 will be chucking out around 147bhp which wont set the heather on fire but when coupled to a nice chassis is actually decent fun.
For others saying the like the car dont rule out the 1.8 , it drops 22bhp compared to the 2.0 but doesnt have as much of an appetite. Early ones with good mileage can be had for £1700 upwards.
Watch for dodgy coil packs, sticking real calipers and rear footwell swimming pools. Other that that, the Mk3 is a nice enough place to be - I've done about 70k in them - tyres, wipers, oil & filters, one coil pack and one caliper is all they set me back.

I had the same car on a 52 plate, ran it for a year and did 25k of hard miles in it, nothing went wrong until the dreaded leaks started - rear footwell would fill up with water, rear screen leaked into cabin, it was still under warranty but no matter how long they had it, the local main dealer couldn't fix it, so it sadly had to go.Hope you have better luck, they really are great all-rounders, I travelled fully loaded the length and breadth of the UK in mine and rate them highly as honest workhorses with all the toys you need.

Thought it looked dear initially but having has a scan on Autotrader prices seemed to have firmed up.
Colour really suits it and nice to have all the toys.
My Dad's got a TDCi which he is very impressed with apart from the very expensive clutch needing replacement a few months ago. I think its a cheaper on ein the petrol.
