Hey folks, first of all, i have no idea why this project is called 'Trackpony' it's just what one of the boys called the car and the name has stuck...

Trackpony is actually a Mitsi Evo 4RS which has a 6 engine and a few other choice bits. This is something which three of us have chipped in and bought to use as a track car / hill climb / sprint car and will be evolving on an ongoing basis...

I will let the pics do the talking and i will update the thread as parts arrive / get fitted..

Any comments, advice is welcomed, good or bad..

As we bought it..

Parts we have already bought or waiting on delivery are;

k-sport side mount buckets
k-sport 6 point harnesses
k-sport 8 pot 330m front braking kit
brembo evo 5-9 rear calipers
evo 5-9 grooved rear discs
ecutek'd evo6 ecu
forge uprated actuator
spare Evo 5 oz wheels

The car already came with an Evo 6 engine and injectors etc, a titanium exhaust, JIC coilovers and a 6 point cage..

Cheers

Stevenr, no the car was imported about a year ago by a guy in Fife i think, then it spent the last six months up here in Aberdeen/shire..

Wayne, cheers... speaking with the guys who will be mapping the car they think, with the mods the car has, it should be pushing out about 370bhp and it has been on a diet so should weigh about 1150kilos so it should be fairly rapid..

Cheers folks

~370 bhp you say?

Car certainly looks like a weapon to devour other road users - should be perfect for hill climbs etc.

How much has it actually cost so far?

370 is what we have been told by the people who are doing the fitting and mapping... The evo 6 engine with the larger injectors and the induction, exhaust, hardpipes, uprated actuator and a few other bits should be capable of that, they actually said 380 but i'm a bot sceptical.. To be honest we aren't bothered about massive bhp figures, as long as the car goes well on the track, sprint etc then we will be happy..

Cost to date, including the car are about 6 grand, i reckon another 2 will see us ready for the first track day on the 6th feb..

cheers

That sounds good, no point in chasing silly bhp figures.

I'm yearning for the Evo 6 ownership at some point.

Good luck with it, when you are looking to buy check out the MLR as they usually have a large selection of enthusiast owned cars so you'd like to think they would be well looked after.

I have never had an evo before so i can't tell you anything about them, lol.. Between me and the other two boys doing this we must have had every other kind of car out there but no Evo's so this is new to us all..

cheers

Update - Well the brakes arrived today and they are pretty huge, would like to think stopping aint going to be a problem with these bad boys, Ksport 8 pots and 330mm two piece discs!

when you look at what they are replacing it's fair to say it should be much better!

Also, got some of the other pics uploaded, you can see how much junk we have taken out of the car now, it all adds up to a fair weight!

and finally a sneaky peak at the Titanium exhaust which was on the car when we bought it - supposedly these cost almost 2 grand!!!

will keep the updates coming!

Cheers for looking

We seem to have veered away from making constructive criticism of Boyner's go-kart onto who's got the biggest fish! Anyway, I reckon the evo couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding - red Mk 4 golf GTtdis are waaaay better! He, he!! Can I suggest a set of go-faster stripes?
Have you guessed who this is yet, by the way?

For a moment I thought someone had bought a Hiyndai Pony to make into a track car.

Looks like a beast should go very well on the track.

Is it going to be road registered?.
