Wifes new car-

Its a Subaru WRX-S, which has the Prodrive Performance Pack added - Prodrive remap, Prodrive exhaust, Prodrive 18 inch anthracite alloys on Pirelli P Zero Neros, and also the STI rear spoiler, STI grille and STI front splitter. Standard on the car is xenons, 6 disc changer, etc. Performance is 255BHP and 0-60 in 5.5 seconds.

Forge Dump Valve ready for fitting and probably an induction kit at some point.

Something a bit different and was discounted down to £20K and came with three years free servicing.

Very much like this in black, very stealth smile

Is the WRX 5-door and the STI 3-door, or can you specify?

All of them are 5 door. Three door would be nicer!!

I personally don't think these cars are as ugly as the motoring press make out.

They look good and are a grower, I think. Black or blue looks best..

Nice car..

Very nice indeed, wasn't to sure about the looks when they were first released but they have grown on me since, black definitely suits it to. Very stealth as stated earlier. Im assuming you have been out to test that 'everything' works ok for you're wife? wink

Not an impreza fan in general but I've been out in a new PPP Sti and it was really awesome and yours also looks very nice indeed smile

I hope that I find a wife who would rather have a scooby than a fiesta or matiz!

Nice car mate the new shape is growing on me.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the dump valve, the feeling on scooby net is they can possibly cause problems but don't add anything performance wise. The car has a recirculating valve fitted as standard which is audible if you remove the resonator chamber attached to the air box.

Owhh, thats abit lame.
I think the range topping 330S should be a 3 door variant. It would remind me of the old 22B and how amazing it looks.

That is really nice. We nearly bought a WRX last year and in some ways I regret us not doing it.

I Just find them altogether fugly. Keep looking at the older Imprezas for a winter shed but just feel that I'll end up looking like a chav. The 22b would be a truly great purchase but I fear that I'd give my nearest neighbours the wrong impression!! nono

I get the impression that Subaru UK / Subaru have lost touch with what people really want from Subaru. Apparently next year they plan to import next to no WRX / STI variants and are planning to do away with this WRX-S (which was a limited edition anyway). Apparently they want to push the diesel variant instead - which is all very well, but its 20K+ for what is only an average performer - to put that into perspective i just bought a new Passat 2.0TDI for £15750.

Lets hope they cotton on before its too late.

Its a bit like Toyota - stopped making the Celica and MR2 and now 5 years later all of a sudden think its a great idea to talk about doing sports cars again. D'uh!

We actually bought this undriven - we were very impressed with the WRX and my wife would have bought one of those when they told her about the WRX-S. They were a limited edition and there were only 5 in black left in the UK unregistered and several blue ones. This one was shipped over from somewhere in scotland especially for her.

Yeah - i looked at a previous model STi in 07 and really couldnt reconcile the looks / image so i played it a bit safe and bought a new 535d instead. At that point my wife saw a 3.0Si Coupe z4 and bought it too. The 5 door doesnt particularly do it for me. I was tasked with finding some suitable test drives and lined up Subaru as the wild card, but she just fell for it.

Helped that we bought from a family dealership whereby you deal with the owner, etc. All a lot more personal than the might of BMW.

Looks good, black colour suit the car well. Wasn't too keen when they first came out, but it's growing on me now. How do they sound compared to the older models?

Sadly, nowhere near as good...

The 2.0 boxer 'thrum' has pretty much gone.

Still sounds reasonably good on full throttle though.
