My daily driver - '93 1275 Mayfair. Bought her back in 2003, one old lady owner with 19k on the clock. Just a smidge under 60k on it now. Since this photo, it has a Cooper grill and wings, scuttle, front panel and A panels replaced. Great fun, but lacking in power (49bhp on RR!). Not sure what to do, it needs new discs, ball joints and steering rack, but I think I fancy a change. Mini's are in my blood, but I fancy a spell of owning something else - Golf GTI, 205GTI, Corrado VR6 or similar, before a family comes along and ruins the fun. But then part of me, if I ever come into some money hankers after a 1380 and 100bhp in this............

Don't swap it, take it to Chris at ZCars, hand him some cash and he'll give you a conversion kit, or more cash and he'll do it for you. What you'll get is one of THE fastest B road point to point cars ever made.
I've seen them go at Curbrough and there is no way on earth i'd be able to handle one of those - The fastest car i've driven is my old mans Fiesta ST!Mini looks good, having owned a few MK2 Golf GTi's and a couple of Corrado's including the VR6 I'd say they'd be very much more refined/comfortable than you're used to with the Mini. 205 GTI I'd say has more of a Mini feel to it than the VW offerings, but that could be because they're French and made of tin.
For me it'd be between the Corrado and the 205, I'd say the Corrado just shades the Golf but the 205 is pretty special to.

Hednesford, right on the edge of Cannock Chase. You Fradley way?
My nan lives in Heath-Hayes right down the road from you, as do my cousins (One is also a season ticket holder up at keys park) I also have my haircut in Hednesford when I visit my grandparents.Me, I'm based in Stafford - About half a mile from junction 14 - near the huge Argos factory.
Lovely Mini.
Know what you mean about wanting a change. I have had 4 in total but got fed up of the lack of power, bouncy ride and crap heater. I got a MKII GTI and eventhough it was 15 years old it was a definate step up, a more grown up car and one you don't mind using everyday. Must be an age thing.
